Have the devs considered a freddy nerf?
Im asking this because im not up to date on the most recent Q&A and livestreams.
I think its very obvious that freddy is very oppressive and he just has too much going on in his base kit.
He is overpowered, boring to versus and boring to play. (IMO)
No offence to anyone who plays him alot, but you are playing the easiest killer in the game and the only one that gains pressure by doing absolutely nothing (survivors fall asleep every 60 seconds), im sure you see that he is overpowered.
Anyway that was a little rant, but im still wondering if the devs have commented on this subject.

I doubt it. They said the next one will be Demo (most likely only Add-Ons, which is fair, since his Basekit is fine).

I think Rat liver basekit is a good change. His basekit is not the worst but it certainly could have some minor improvements.

Yes, with Demo being the first one.
Could be possible, but I think that they will do more to his Add Ons. Wraith only got a few Changes, Blight was a POV-Fix, which took longer by default and simply goes out when ready.
But for Demo, most of his Add Ons are not useful at all. The best ones are the brown Add Ons and there is little to no point in using an Add On which is green Rarity or higher.
So I would guess that they will do more to his Add Ons than compared to Wraith for the upcoming Midchapter.

And yet again someone shaming people for playing a certain killer. Freddy may be easy but that doesn’t give you the right to call out Freddy mains. Also, he isn’t overpowered at all. Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Oni, Huntress, PH, and Blight are all easily better than him imo.

The only thing that worries me about Freddy changes is a comment from Ethan/Almo on the subject. I believe he said something along the lines of "Freddy is too strong, but we're not sure in what area/how".
Maybe what needs changing is more subjective but if you ask me it's how he can camp people to death and ignore BT because of oblivious

Personally, I'd like to see the sleep timer removed so he is required to hit a Survivor to put them to sleep. I think that single change would fix him up really well. Everything else can stay, do a normal pass on his add-ons, but make him work a bit for his power. It'd be a small but substantial change to his play style that I believe most people would be fine with.

Alternatively they could make it so you can use any clock to wake up/remove the stacking penalty from other survivors waking you up?
Making it easier to wake up might go a long way in making him a bit more balanced but maybe that's not what he needs.

That would still give him free power up, though it would make the options for dealing with it a lot more manageable for Survivors. It's kind of an even trade off, so it's be worth considering. A few Freddy mains could weigh in with opinions on which they'd prefer.

It would also help with the oblivious camping problem because if survivors could wake up more easily then they will sort-of have more ways to be able to utilize BT
Although a determined camping freddy will just hit people going for the unhook, disabling their BT the second they are put to sleep which is still a problem

They at least saw this suggestion and said it makes sense (some post from Almo here on the Forums). So I guess it will be Basekit, which would be nice, because this would mean that you have 2 Add On-Slots as Demo.

Freddy's main issue is that he isn't really bad at anything.
Now the trade off for Freddy being good at everything is to stay awake, but since survivors fall asleep passively and waking up is time consuming it doesn't really matter that much. You either give Freddy his anti-loop tool and lower his teleport CD by being asleep or you spend time not doing gens to wake yourself up.
I can see how it can be tough to determine what aspect of Freddy should be tweaked since alone none of his powers are game breaking.

Sounds about right, balance team has their head in the spreadsheets rather than the game.
I also feel like Freddys free camping is something of note. Even if you dont have BT, a normal killer might respect it thinking its their and go after the fresh survivor, Freddy needs only to look at the left of the screen to know for a fact that BT won’t be active if the unhooking survivor is asleep. Then its a free slug or maybe even another hook if he wants to risk DS.
Freddys lethality also comes when hes knocking down survivors left and right and using BBQ/Discordance to teleport to Gens for Pop kicks.
Freddy is a bit of a mid-late game killer imo, a bit like Hag. He grows with power when survivors are asleep, the map is covered in snares, and hes juggling survivors for free Pop kicks constanty. His early game is incredibly weak, if a swf team rushes gens you can see how much it hurts him but naturally you play solo and claudette goes to hide in a bush, Nea goes to raid every chest for a flashlight and Bill....ends up being Bill. It’s all wasted time.

The problem with Freddy isn't that he's strong, it's that his power doesn't take much skill to use.
I wish the devs would buff or keep him the way he is now, but give him a higher skill ceiling in some way.
But they're probably just gonna give him some stupid Billy-like nerf and we'll never see him again.

Aside from the continuous mention of the slow down add-ons I still don't understand why some find him so difficult. Nothing about his base kit is unpredictable and his power in chase is very limited unless your trying to force a loop.
I do like the challenge of a skilled killer using him though.

He is not overpowered but he is too easy for all the things he offers. I don't think he should be necessarily nerfed, they just need to increase his difficulty somehow.

IMO Freddy is just a solo que destroyer tbh. A good swf has a chance (like usual) but yeah, that man is WAY too easy to play. Most of the time I see people kill themsleves on hook against a Freddy (I don't blame them) and the Freddy brags how good he is... mmm

I think the reason why a good amount of people despise Freddy is because of the frustration that comes when playing against him...
I have 3k+ hours and play daily with a swf that has the same amount of hours and we all hate him. Unlike other killers, we don't find the match enjoyable when its Freddy. His power(S) are just way too easy and 80% of the ones we come across with just taunt us every game (hitting on hook, shaking left/right after a down, hate mail, etc.) so it's become a norm for all four of us to hate him. Thats why we sweat hard against him and try to get out of there as soon as possible because we don't like him at all... just a pure boring match. They need to also fix his hotboxes, that would be appreciated.
Though yes I agree and that other killers are BETTER than him, those better killers take much more skill to use which my swf and I (along w/ other ppl) would rather prefer going against.

When you are asleep, freddy has no TR because you're oblivious

Freddy was the first license killer I bought not because I knew he was some powerful killer just cuz he was my childhood favorite. Playing him at all ranks I feel removing the passive sleep or at least reducing how quickly it comes or should I say increasing, survivors being able to use any alarm clock, and I what even throw in snares cannot stack Once you walk through one another cannot affect you until the first one has ended its effect. I don't think there should be a cool down on snares you already have a charge time and there's already a limit to them.

Phase changes I'm okay with just because of solo queue and what they have to deal with that being said there's only two or three killers that in my opinion have a decent chance against a good swf. Freddy and his current state can be wrecked by one Spirit nurse and a debatable but great oni and hag are other options and all four better than Fred. I know we shouldn't balance around swf but I also feel that the average killer should have a weapon against them these killers are those weapons. Sucks when you go against them in solo queue I get that.

Freddy is the killer mostly talked about in terms of being overpowered. Demo... Well everybody just loves Demo and the devs are going to show some love to him next. Huntress isn't necessarily a problem since Iri heads aren't present for too many matches I assume. (Maybe they're a different story in red ranks) but with huntress I assume a few add-on reworks are next. They're ironing this out in a specific order

As you wish. There is a problem with your suggestion: if they get rid of passive sleep most of your add-ons would be useless until you hit everyone (unless you are using Red Paint Brush, Swing Chains or Pill Bottle), and even if they are all injured, they can just get to an alarm clock easily. Furthermore, most of the time Dream Snares and Pallets would be useless against healthy survivors, unless they refuse to wake up, which is a big mistake.
Honestly, Freddy doesn't need changes. He is fine.

There is nothing, I repeat, nothing wrong with his hitboxes. They are the same as every other killer, but it LOOKS weird because of his character model.
I main Freddy and have done so ever since I first started playing, prior to his rework. I guarantee, he isn't as easy as you probably think he is.

Freddy is fine. Why are we still asking for nerfs to killers who are fine. Nurse changes and Billy changes were terrible they were fine. Why can't killers have a good chance of winning with the garbage they currently have. Every killer needs a buff. Many more nerfs the player base will die more than it already has.

Eh, if he hits you as you're going for the unhook you'll be put into the dream world. Which means no BT. There's really no way to stop a facecamping Freddy from downing the unhooked survivor unless you have multiple awake survivors bombing the hook.

I think it's laughable that people think priority #1 should be nerfing Freddy, Deathslinger, Spirit, while Nurse is the most busted killer ever made.

Wraith got some big buffs though, not really just QOL. Having that little extra boost on his lunge, being FAR stealthier on open maps with the full invisibility, and FINALLY having good mobility in his basekit are all very signfiicant.

That's what singleplayer games should be. This is a multiplayer game.
Either way, Freddy's pure fun if you just care about winning. There's nothing in his kit that's all that unique or actually "fun" besides being able to win matches with ease because his kit is so strong in pubs and has the lowest skillcap there is.
His power is pretty much MADE for DBD. The "fantasy" of his power is a DBD fantasy, not an actual "killer" fantasty that all the others fulfill. Being able to teleport to generators and place down pools to slow movement is the most DBD thing there is, it's not like Trapper who fits the fantasy of trapping victims, or Spirit who fits the fantasy of being a haunting ghost, or Wraith who fits the fantasy of being invisible and catching people off guard, or Oni who fits the fantasy of growing in power and being an extremely fast and powerful demon, or Bubba who simply fits the fantasy of mowing down people with a chainsaw, or Blight who fits the fantasy of running after and downing your victims at super speed and being everywhere at once with high mobility. That's where, IMO, the fun of most killers come from in terms of design.
The reason people find him fun, like you, as I said, is simply because he's just a character that's made to have everything and be effective at everything with no risk or skill needed. That's his problem. He's not OP IMO, he's just..overly simple and hands the game to you. He's also just a pure disappointment when it comes to the character of Freddy Krueger lol. Power has nothing to do with being a dream demon.
Of course, some of this is my opinion, but I'd argue the whole fantasy thing is accurate and is what the issue with his kit boils down to. A killer shouldn't be MADE for DBD because they'll just end up too simple, they should have a cool power concept that fulfills a killer fantasy, THEN fit it to the multiplayer game DBD.

No.. Freddy is easily top five, even the third strongest killer on some people's list.
He's bloated. He has everything a killer wants for a power and is the easiest to play, hence why they're going to probably nerf him.

Yeah I think people are letting their bias skew their view. People hate Freddy because he’s so common but Nurse is rarely seen.
They act like Freddy is the most powerful force ever made in reality he’s a good but not spectacular killer with a few annoying things. He could maybe use a tweak or two but doesn’t need a nerf. Meanwhile these people are fine with a killer that can teleport though any kind of defence you have, but thats ok because they only go against mediocre nurses

The thing with Nurse is that you need a LOT of time to actually get good with her.There are only a few people out there that are fully able to use her potential.
Freddy on the other side has an insanely low skill floor and ceiling compared to his kit.
He's got:
-115% movement speed
-smaller killer + very quiet (easier to mindgame
-one of the best map mobility in the game
-very good anti-loop
-very good stealth
-built-in anti BT mechanic
-passive slow down (survivors need to be awake)
