Hey smurf survivors, this thread is for you

TL;DR: You're pathetic.

My friend has just started as new game for streams and I gifted him the Bubba DLC to get started, now he never wants to play anymore as killer.

His literal first 3 games were against bully squads everyone looping like actual red ranks, tbagging, and made my friend's first experience such some bullshit.

Hope you're proud of having to create an alt account because you suck and need to ruin other players' experience since yours is sad already.

This is definitely a problem, however I don't think we can reserve this just to survivors as there are plenty of killer players who go in as AFK wraith for example and rank down.

Although some of these may have valid reasons such as hitting green ranks and then suddenly facing red ranks most matches so they do it to get fair games, there will always be the ones that just like dominating the newbies and ruining the new player experience for people just wanting to have fun and get into a new video game.

All last week I had at least 2 brown ranks in my games, but yes, of course.

quit your killer mains vs survivor mains mindset, instead of saying the problem is ok because it happens in both sides then maybe it's better to contribute to end it? I didn't even say it doesn't happen in both sides but for now my friend didn't get matched with any smurf killer

I mean yeah, tunneling against solo queue players is efficient. And as much as I hate tunneling killers, it is the way to go if you want to win.

I pointed out this thread about my friend's experience, my bad he didn't verse smurf killers yet I'm sorry, but I didn't even say they don't exist

I think the real culprit is content creators. I know of plenty who've done Rank 20 to 1 challenges, or just de-rank for fun.

Idk if you guys remember, but a year or two ago de-ranking streamers became a hot topic. Now that BHVR made it take longer to de-rank, those people have moved on to making smurf accounts. Not to mention these people get a bunch of views and inspire their communities to do the same.

But what can be done about it? Just about every multiplayer game I've played has smurfs. It sucks.

Unfortunately your going to need to teach your mate how frustrating the game can be. Survivors creating smurf accounts just to bully killer is a horrible problem this game has. Shame on any groups who actually do this.

The problem is there are times where creating a new account is good thing and not meant for being toxic to new killers.

Not all of us are smurfs or trying to play the system.

I moved from switch to PC, I was a red rank survivor on the switch but I'm currently a brown rank on PC.

I do understand where your friend is coming from when I first played killer on the switch I met a lot of players who were obviously using sub accounts (very easy to create on console), they had about 20 hours played but they knew how to loop, had flashlights etc and didn't care at all about escaping.

One experience is that they would swarm me, let me down one of them and then try to get a flashlight save. I have watched streamers so I knew exactly what they were trying to do, I admit I got irritated so I killed 3 of them and made one of them bleed out, closing the hatch in front of them.

On PC my experience has been a mixed bag the killer is sometimes a brown rank with 2K hours with a meta build, yes they may be a survivor main but they almost always get a 4K. If I suspect the killer is actually a newbie i.e misses easy hits, doesn't break god/safe pallets, can't mind game and doesn't get one hook/kill the entire game I will usually let them kill me.

Personally I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone I know, which is a shame.

People make smurfs in DbD? Is it to preserve their main's red ranks or something?

    Rip :(

Yet red rank killers that consistently get paired with Yellow rank survivors is fine? You do realize if someone stopped playing DBD for 3 months and came back, they would be yellow rank? Not everything is a smurf and not every new player to DBD is terrible.

And not everything is swf either. People think rainbow ranks are swf but people who play solo surv know that this happens to them too. You can be the only red paired with lower ranks.

I get that. Yeah. I also didn’t directly attack OP or killer players though. But a thread that already only mention the bad bad survivors instead of just saying „Hey smurfs, this thread is for you“ kind of attacks survivors.

and if killers do something like this it actually gets celebrated in the forums often times or downplayed, it’s said to be effective to tunnel the weakest link out and no one cares that it may have been a casual swf that didn’t actually try to bully the killer (not saying those don’t exist), or even soloQ. And all this as a brown/green tank killer with multiple teachable perks from other killers. Depipping as killer is also something that seems to be considered okay as killer but not as survivor.

and it is also effective to loop an inexperienced killer btw.

It could be a possibility that their rank 17 friend used to play the game often but took a break, or its ######### up matchmaking.

Im not trying to be offensive here, but maybe your friend shouldnt play competitive games. You always have smurfs, and if you can tbag in a game, players will tbag. Also buying additional content for a game you play for the first time is kind of a bad financial decision.

something also need to be done about SWF group making a party making the lowest rank the leader so they get easy game to bully the killer

I was at rank 14 was at 8 at one point but at rank 14 I got a group 3 red rank survivors one rank 13 close to my rank.

if survivor want to play with friend is fine but they need to be facing killers of the same rank as the highest rank survivor in they group no matter who the leader or not it not fair.

where is it stated that the game is competitive in the store page.

I didn't even introduce him, he found the game himself and when I catched him streaming I surprised him with a little gift. My bad I guess. I don't smurf and I can't know people do this ######### in rank 20

Thanks to wait time trumping matchmaking it's way more common for Survivors to face a low rank killer than the other way around. Can't even recall being pair with brown Survivors outside of a random solo or the team's resident smurf.

its nowhere stated. Its like common sense. You play against other players in order to win, to be better. If it is not competitive, then why your friend quit after 3 games? I dont know him but Im pretty sure he would keep playing dbd if he would have 4kd in those games.

Bad things happen but your intention was very nice and I think he appreciates it.

I know many players who smurf. They just do it for fun, thats it. And if they enjoy the game like this, hey why not. No one in online games care for other peoples fun if they dont know them. Thats just a sad truth you need to understand.

The low rank doesn’t have to be the ‚leader‘ though. It’s completely out of their control with a mixed rank premade lobby.

i was playing with 3 friends a few weeks ago, 2 red and 2 brown ranks, and one of the red ranks was alway the one who invited the others. We got all kinds of killers matched to us. Mostly rank 1 or brown rank but also everything in between (Just for the record: no bullying. And both us red ranks are not good at this game. At all. And both brown ranks will probably never play again because the matches never were really good for us)

the ranks of the people he versed din't go lower than 17, they were all grey
