I'Ve always spent them for extra BP but since the twins I save them to buy the dlc's, no way i am giving them money for such bad work

I thought you couldn't buy any new characters with shards anymore? Or at least, they've started to remove the option to?

Only licensed characters cannot be bought with shards. Presumably because as part of the license deal, a portion of the profits off of selling these characters and their cosmetics are used as a financial incentive to the license holder.

DBD original characters (Like Felix, Elodie, Charlotte & Victor and Talbot Grimes) can still be bought with shards.
