Cannibal Chainsaw Sound Bug

I play on Steam PC
Sometimes when I am being chased by the Cannibal, I do not hear him start revving his chainsaw. Sometimes I am looking at him. Sometimes I am not. Once, I was working on a generator and he snuck up on me while revving his chainsaw. The perks he had were Enduring, BBQ & Chili, Pop Goes The Weasel, and Spirit Fury. His add-ons were Primer Bulb and Vegetable Oil.
It happens inconsistently.
