Some analytics and calculations for clown

Someone might have done it already but I'm putting it out here for personal use and for people who might find it helpful. It's to see the efficiency and catching up ability of both bottles. No addons considered. Just to prove that yellow bottles aren't as bad as people think.

Basics:

Survivor movement speed = 4 m/s

Killer movement speed = 4.6 m/s

Afterpiece tonic (Pink bottles):

*Slows down survivor movement speed by 15%. In game description says hindered lasts for 2s while wiki says it lasts for 2.5s. I'll consider it as 3s which should also take into account the time it takes for the survivor to leave the cloud after which, I presume the timer starts to go down.*

Survivor movement speed = 4 x 0.85 = 3.4 m/s

Net speed difference = 4.6 - 3.4 = 1.2 m/s

Extra distance gained from one use of bottle = 1.2 x 3 = 3.6m

Afterpiece antidote (Yellow bottles):

*Increases killer movement speed by 10% and lasts for 5s. I will ignore the time you spend crossing the cloud and assume that the timer starts to go down the moment the killer gets invigorated.*

Killer movement speed = 4.6 x 1.1 = 5.06 m/s

Net speed difference = 5.06 - 4 = 1.06 m/s

Extra distance gained from one use of bottle = 1.06 x 5 = 5.3m

Conclusion:

  • The yellow bottle gives more extra distance for a single use of bottle (5.3m, worst case scenario) than the pink one (3.6m, relatively better case) and so the yellow bottle is more efficient than the pink one.
  • The yellow bottle gives more extra distance than pink bottles after 3.396s of being invigorated (Again, assuming the pink bottles will hinder for 3s).
  • Pink bottles however beat the yellow bottles in terms of net speed difference. This makes the pink bottles more suited for quickly catching up to a survivor if efficiency isn't a concern.
  • Yellow bottles are also more efficient in terms of wastage. It's easier to have the killer go through a yellow cloud than to have a survivor go through a pink one.
  • At closer distances, pink bottles excel at slowing down survivors. At medium to long distances, yellow bottle is the most efficient way to catch up to the survivor and the fact that the yellow bottles have a cooldown only reinforces this playstyle.

*I'm neither an expert in mathematics nor with clown. These are the numbers I collected from DBD wiki and in game descriptions and I did the math to see if yellow bottles are as bad as people think. Also, using both bottles in tandem is still a best and possibly the most viable option. The best playstyle would be to gain distance with yellow bottle and use pink bottle to slow survivors down once close enough and while it's a well known fact, the above is just the math behind it for people who prefer data and for people who feel yellow bottles aren't good. Also let me know if I made a mistake anywhere with the math or fact and I'll edit it. Like I said, I'm not the best at mathematics and I did this with what I have and know.*

Another interresting thing to look at is when they are combined.

Clowns movement speed while invigorated 5.06m/s vs slowed survivor movement speed of 3.4m/s means a difference of 1.66m/s

Thats (1.66×3) + (1.06×2) = 7.1 meters extra distance with the first 3 seconds being both slowed and invigorated and the last 2 seconds still being invigorated.

By comparison to sprint burst that loses you (6×3)-(4.6×3)= 4.2 meters distance it's kinda nutty so many people think yellow bottles are useless
