What kind of killer's power would you like to see in the game?
Usually, the topic of discussions on this forum is what specific killer (usually licensed) you want to see added to the game.
But I wanted to go and discuss killer's powers.
Do you guys have any ideas that you would like to see in the game? Something unique that would change the flow of the game? Something that would add another layer of mechanics? Maybe any cool weapons you'd like the killer to use?
Personally, I want a wall crawling ability. I am really not sure how or if they could make it work, but having a killer creep on me around the corner would be scary. Or indoors have him jump at me from the ceiling ... Freaky.

So, I'm working on something in advance for the creativity contest, which is a power I'd like to see in the game. To keep things vague, so I don't give away too much before it actually happens, a killer with some kind of control over the weather would be cool.

Some kind of elemental Killer. That's it. Fire, water, I don't care about specifics. I just want an element Killer.

I think something like things above would really fit slenderman as killer.
Look in the direction of killer (f/e similar mechanic as reveal range) and your camera gets kinda locked on killer and you get some nasty thing stacked on you until you finally look away which is hard bc your camera sensitivity would heavily decrease.
Something like Freddy's invisibility when outside certain range of him, but instead an inability to see killer actually moving. Instead you could see only his stationary 'image' that is looking in your direction and that is respawned in killer's position every few seconds whenever you look away which creates an illusion that killer doesn't actually moves, but rather teleports.
An ability to focus on survivor for few seconds (like stalking, you get heavily slowed down and survivor gets a cue) and do something to them if they don't break line of sight in time.

A killer's ability to interact with window vaults from huge distance by literally pulling themselves to the vault and through.
That could really make a good chasing power since you'd be able to basically always vault the window right after survivor instead of spending time coming to it which would always mean you'd be breathing in their back.

Something with a blizzard or a sandstorm in the terror radius(maybe a bit bigger)

Think the crows are an untapped potential for a killer power. Maybe he could occasional pulse and trigger the crows to reveal survivors, much like Doctors blast but more widespread.
Then his secondary ability could collect crows that are startled by survivors and some how use them offensively. I’d imagine, you could transfer a crow(s) to a survivor on basic attack and they will continue to peck at the survivor and do laceration damage (like Trickster) until removed or your put into the dying state.
Other survivors can remove or you can remove them yourself by failing a generator skill check and shocking them away.

A character that creates portals, like, well, in Portal, that both themselves and Survivors can end up using.
These portals link in pairs by default (so A to B, then C to D) but the Killer can manually rewire them from a distance with the Secondary Power function. (Portals that are left without a link will automatically link themselves to the nearest unlinked portal, if none exist it'll just delete itself) On top of this, while Portals can visually be seen through, the Killer can't percieve Survivors on the other end of an open portal.
The portals are invisible to Survivors until the Killer uses it (nor will the Killer be able to use it to see through until then), but Survivors can still end up using the portals if they move into them. These portals can be placed in thin air, or on surfaces, and the Secondary Power button while placing portals changes the portal between vertical and horizontal alignments, so the Killer can have Survivors fall through the floor, then out of the air onto the ground nearby in order to inflict falling stagger and slow them down.
Of course, the main use for these would be disabling loops (eg. survivor teabags behind safe pallet, but you've already created a portal right next to it letting you essentially walk through the wall and get a down) and for moving around the map quickly, but there'd be lots of room to get creative. Would still require advance setup though, and if a Survivor discovers the portal they aren't going to fall for it.
Obviously, the Killer would have a limited number of Portals they could have at once. The Survivors should also have a mechanic to close Portals off, much like Demogorgon or Trapper's counters, to avoid scenarios like the Killer camping every gen at once. A cleanse that lasts a few seconds that only works on revealed portals would work. (as well as potentially a cooldown on going back through the same portal twice, or some kind of "portal sickness" that bars you from using them for a little bit if you run through 3 in the same ~15 second interval?)
Killer designing probably takes a lot of prototyping, and this would almost certainly require waaaaay more bugtesting and map polish than BHVR are capable of, but that's my 5 minute concept.

i got a couple of ideas in my mind, actually.
1) a poisonous gas type of power (similar to clown in that regard) that intoxicates survivors who breathe it in. they will stay intoxicated until they find / craft a cure for it and the intoxication level increaes each time they come into contact with it (similar to Docs madness in that regard).
The higher the intoxication level, the more effecs they will receive, such as, but not limited to: a foggy screen covering up things far away (fog gets closer the higher the intoxication level), illusions of the killer walking around said fog (illusions might start comming out of it towards the survivor before disapperaing - they get closer with each intoxication level), a constant coughing sound they make to limit stealth abilities, maybe even oblivious at a certain point.
i havent worked out the details yet, though we can always make it so Add Ons add more effects on the power (similar to Doctor).
originally i wanted him to intoxicate close by survivors by grabbing them and forcing them to inhale the gas, though we could also go for something a bit more ranged, like him placing gas containers down that intoxicate people around them and that can be destroyed (ofc the grab would intoxicate ppl a lot quicker).
the killer i imagined for this was a scientist / biologist kind of killer.
2) a killer setting tripwires down that, should they be triggered by survivors, will blind and deafen them for a short duration. i wanted the power to be linked directly to flashbang grenades.
the way that would work is, that the killer can select two surfaces that are close to each other and then places a tripwire between them, with a flashbang on each side. he would, of course, be limited in the amount of traps he can have at the same time, however he should not have to make a Trapper and run across the entire map to get his traps, he just gets them back as soon as they are used / disarmed.
survivors can disarm his traps when standing close to them, similar to Trapper.
the killer i imagined for this was a police officer kind of killer.
3) a killer throwing molotov cocktails, igniting the area they hit (inflicting burn damage to survivors), aswell as covering a larger area around the fire with thick, black smoke.
very similar to clown he would be throwing the cocktails at and around loops to cover a cerrtain path that survivors cant take (unless they want to take burn damage ofc), aswell as masking his own moves within the area.
burn damage will injure a survivor after a certain while (similar to sickness, but without the broken) and make any pallet they vault burn to ashes, aswell as ignite windows / objects they interact with to make their ignition meter go up. each time that is filled, the survivor takes damage and it is emptied again.
survivors can extinguish themselves either by having their ignition meter be at 0% and performing an "extinguish" action (ignition goes down on its own when they are not doing interactions - similar to the old Madness effect, but a lot faster than that or by having a teammate extinguish them, which takes longer than doing it by yourself, but therefore doesnt require the ignition meter to be 0%.
much like clown, the killer will be immune to all fire / smoke effects (he can see clearly when inside the smoke, survivors cant).
the killer i imagined for this was a firefighter kind of killer.

An echolocation killer, like a Future Predator from Primeval.

Maybe a weeping angels kind of thing. They move really fast but can't move if someone's looking at them. Some sort of blink mechanic would probably be added, and over time or by charging it somehow they unlock the ability to have lights around the map start flickering for a period of time.

Some kind of power involving insects or spiders. Don’t really know what that could be though.
(also Candyman with the bees would be a great candidate for this)

I actually had a cool idea for a zoning killers
A marine killer in one of the old scuba suits with the cool helmet and the anchor weapon and stuff
His power would basically be the ultimate zoning tool.
He is able to create areas of 'swampy' (if you must, like polluted shallows) land that affect survivors. This basekit could maybe slow them a bit or something I'm not sure and additional affects or different ones could be done with addons
This would operate in a similar way to PH's trails in that he needs to travel the path that he sets it up on, but it seeps out, additionally if the trails are joined and the middle area isn't too big it will all become zoned area. Whilst he is holding this he would have a power gauge that would go down for each bit of trail out (and recycle once it ran out) Forcing the killer to either zone and keep a three gen or use it for offensive potential and getting major shut down at loops.
To stop him from an aoe trapper I thought giving him a chase power where a survivor being affected by the swamp area (possibly the affect could be called submerged or something) the killers receives a small buff. The waters call to him and increase his movement speed for a token (at 1% per token) for every 20 seconds a survivor is in your terror radius affected by the submerged affect. This is cancelled when all survivors are no longer affected by the submerged status affect. It could also do something different but it gives him a sort of basekit bloodlust that will help him chase.

After the rounds i played today... there is no need for a killer power that does that. Baby Dwight can do all that alone.
