Decisive Strike unfairly nerfed with no counter buffs
How many counters does a perk need? Since killers didn’t know how to play around the perk it will now have the most ways to disable itself than any other perk in the game. Pretty much paralyzing the survivor to keep it. As difficult as it is for the survivor to complete objectives this is a huge set back. Most matches there is little hope. Killers have nothing to do but one objective while survivors have to do several and on top of that punished for doing anything where killer perks completely changes the game. Now survivor perks punish for playing the game.
A perk “Nothing to be afraid of” is really the opposite now. More afraid of losing it and needing it when a spirit phases all the way back and tunnel. Was it forgotten that being a survivor you should try to heal yourself if you are injured? What benefit is it to have good med kits? It should be fair game to try to heal yourself and not worry with losing a perk. Not to mention trying to help your team. Now Bubba will be stronger in the basement because BT does nothing to him, DS you could maybe unhook someone and have a chance for only one to get out. An unnecessary buff where Bubba didn't need it because there is no counterplay to killers like Bubba.
It was nerfed way too much to benefit only killers and make their game easier than it already is with nothing added to it to help survivors. Like the least that could have been done was to stop the timer if someone is being chased or slugged on the ground. I thought 1-time use perks should be powerful, not very weak and catering to the other side so much. Undying was a busted perk and it won the killer the game, yet it still got huge counter buffs when it was nerfed. DS is only a 1-time use perk and it can really only be used by a facecamping killer now and that assumes that they don’t slug. It is ridiculous decisive strike will be so situational and only useable if killer plays a specific way and can still prevent it from being used by slugging. Lets be sure killers can abuse it. The decisive strike nerfs were rushed and for only to entertain killers.

It was overtuned and unfair for 2 years.

EDIT: I would also like to say that considering OPs post story we shouldn't listen to his opinion since he's very likely just a troll.

It doesn't need a counterbuff to balance it out. The nerf does not at all affect people who used it to mitigate tunnelling, so there's no worries there.

i think the nerf is fine but i would like to see either the timer pause in chases or it be a 2x use because atm it's not 𝓉𝓇𝓊𝑒 𝒶𝓃𝓉𝒾 𝓉𝓊𝓃𝓃𝑒𝓁 like everyone keeps saying.

Haven't we all been ignoring the real balance issue of dbd? The pig is quite possibly the most broken busted OP low effort high reward killers. Her power can LITERALLY kill the survivor in 2.5 minutes! No add-ons required! Absolutely blows my mind how the devs have refused to nerf her.

Personally, I hope they make it more "Anti-Tunnel" in a future Update. Like increasing the Timer or removing Scratchmarks/Bloodtrails/Grunts of Pain for 10 seconds after the stun so that the Survivor either is secured longer or has an actual chance to get away (like, the strongest Killers like Nurse and Spirit dont care about DS at all, so 10 seconds of basically being invisible can give the Survivor enough distance).

I think the change is needed and appropriate. Oh and - Look ANOTHER DS thread because posting in one of the existing 200+ threads that basically go over all the same points/counter points would have been difficult.

There shouldn't be a perk where you can sit on a gen without needing to worry about the killer.

DS is an anti-tunneling perk.
If you decide you have a moment to do a gen or heal somebody, you aren't being tunneled anymore and don't need the perk.
The perk unfairly wasted killer's who weren't tunneling's time. It isn't the killer's fault your teammates are garbage enough to get downed and hooked in less than a minute before he finds you again.

Idk if you look at the stats pig has a pretty high kill rate so nerfs must be needed.

It works just the same if you're actually being tunnelled.
If you're repairing a gen or cleansing a totem etc you aren't being tunnelled so you shouldn't have an anti tunnel perk.
The ds nerf is perfect now because it actually does what it's suppose to do.

I hope this is like when they changed Ruin and a few months later they changed Toolboxes and gen efficiency.
I mean, I hope they nerfed DS and in 3 months we get a game mechanic that can mitigate all the tunneling and proxy camping we having lately.

As much as I agree with everyone else that DS did need nerfed, with the upcoming changes, it probably won't even serve well as an anti-tunnel perk after its changes. If a killer decides to tunnel but fails to down the survivor within 60 seconds, DS deactivates despite the fact that they were in fact getting tunnelled.

DS nerf changes nothing for me at all. I bring a fast medkit with 2 heals. If I hit you with DS, it was tunneling at it's truest definition.
If you leave me alone for 10 seconds, I'll be healed up and ready to resume the chase.

I think some survivors don't understand what DS is supposed to be. Its not supposed to be 1 minute invincibility, its supposed to be an anti tunneling perk. Its supposed to be USED as an anti tunneling perk. Getting progress done on a gen while being invisible for an entire minute is unfair.

So the survivor queue time is short In your region? During rush hour I can use all my 1m blood points and still don't get a match as survivor in my region which makes me have to be a killer main. Without killers, u don't have a game. Stop asking for advantages when your opponents are already quiting the game.

your question is a bit confusing, but i assume that you are asking if ds deactivate the second you start a gen after being unhooked. if that's your question, then yes, you will lose it.

But the nerf makes it easier to tunnel, way easier. It is too easy to lose the perk and then killer can tunnel.
