This thought came up in my mind not too long ago and I personally think it would be interesting. Maybe the developers could do it for a chapter released in Fall, Winter, or Spring, but I think since this would be a new and big deal, it may end up being reserved for an Anniversary Celebration for DBD. I sort of picture it like the developers showcase around 3 survivors and killers and we as the community can vote for which ones we want in the game. The developers would give us an idea of what perks the survivors may have and what perks and abilities the killers may have. They would do this on one of DBD's anniversary celebrations and then later, we would get what the community voted for. What do you guys think?

    Not for every chapter, but say a one-off where the survivors are politicians we vote to elect, and the killers are on trial where we're the jury voting on who to execute.

    I think that'd make an exciting chapter, yeah!

    Chapters are planned and worked on too far before release so the effect of the vote would be too far in the future.

    plus people would probably just vote for the attractive young and successful female. Which is at the moment overdone for DbD survivors. I want more normal everyday people like the original 4, but those wouldn’t get the highest votes I fear

    I would love voting for characters for a future chapter.

    I would love to be able to vote for new characters, like a survivor and a killer, for a chapter, once a year. The devs could put up the designs and we would vote. That sounds interesting and the community would feel included in the decision.

    Yeah, if this election doesn't get hacked by computer software and corrupt election officials. Jk, the community pays for the game to exist, the community should choose what's in the game.

    I would hate voting for characters for a future chapter.

    It would probably end up with all of the happy clappy brigade voting for someone because they think he's "gorgeous" and they would "simp" for him, with requests for bare-chested skins etc (all the usual, tedious nonsense). And then we would get the cosplays and the fan art scenarios (the big social media shares etc)...until the chapter drops...it cools down to the point it's a wet fart...and everyone goes back to their mains.
