Another take on the ridiculous grind
So, given the fact that BHVR aren't implementing cross progression for consoles (but they're doing it for Switch... Amazing... How many people play on Switch exactly?), I've had to start from scratch on PC as my PS4 has died. The grind is absolutely absurd, as we all very well know. But what's equally frustrating is getting matched against high ranks all spamming meta perks... When you only have 2 teachables unlocked... This is not only incredibly unbalanced but also frustrating and just a painful reminder of the disgusting grind you've got ahead of you. WHEN are the Devs going to address this? Can't imagine how awful the experience is for genuinely new players. What a mess.

the issue with cross progression is with sony and microsoft.
behaviour has it's problems, but this one isn't on them.

Right... So that suddenly negates the rest of my post? The absurd grind is fine because the issue of Cross Progression isn't on BHVR's end? The post isn't about cross progression, I was explaining why I had to start from scratch on PC.

Know that feel brother. 3 years on Xbox. All DLCs and tons of cosmetics. Down the drain for PC. I planned on continuing both but the pathetic performance on Xbox and years of lies about fixing it turned me away.
I waited to buy all the DLC on sale for PC. So far haven't bought the last chapter and probably won't buy this one as both have been pretty lame. Also not buying any premium outfits ever unless cross-save is added and I get my old ones back. Shards for everything.

For real. The grind is absolutely absurd. I actually want to give BHVR money for the PS5 version but I refuse to go through the grind again. It's not even about cross progression for me. I just refuse to grind out 3 tiers of every perk on every character for a second time. I've flat out told others not to buy this game and have been told by newer players they've quit because of the grind.
BHVR gets bizarrely stubborn about the dumbest things. I swear some higher ups on the dev team are living in a time warp. Struggle state button mashing, Korean mmo style grind. It's like they think it's 2004.

I've tried introducing at least 3 people to this game and they all quit immediately.
- Korean MMO grind
- Terrible matchmaking
- Very, very basic tutorial hidden away in the settings menu
- Doesn't explain perks unless you read through all their descriptions and look up the most important ones
- Either play killer by yourself and get mauled
- Or play with friends and not even understand how to loop or what powers do
Not a very good experience overall for new players. I had my brother play a match as Wraith, told him the basics like how to swing and cloak and hook, and he did not have a good time. Survivors ran him in circles after slamming out 4 gens, then one of them let him get a hook just so they could BT + DS him and run out the gates.

Oh my lord the performance issues on console are definitely enough to make anyone struggle going from PC to Console. The constant frame drops every time an effect is applied like Sloppy Butcher or Exposed status from Devour/NOED. Or having a survivor 360 you and THEN your frames drop... Big yikes lol.

Yeah I myself don't bother trying to get anyone to play this game because I know they're NOT going to want to carry on when they find out about the uphill battle they have facing them. It really annoys me how the devs take the time to do an animation and HUD overhaul that NOBODY asked for, but refuse to address these very important QoL aspects. You'd think it'd be in their best interest to make it enticing for new players to pick up the game... But apparently all they care about is cosmetics.

yes... me saying that one part of what you said is wrong, somehow means I disagree with everything you said...
guy a - "Hey guys, did you know X, Y and Z?"
guy b - "Nah, Y is not that"
guy a - "Why are you disagreeing with everything I said?!?"

I maybe understand the grind 60 years ago but I feel like for every new killer they bring out they should reduce the grind. Or every couple killers. The main problem for me is how many killers and survivors you have to level up. One of my solutions is idk. Actually do more BP events. Maybe on the weekends like some other games that have big grinds. Or just make the double BP events stuff base.

Why dont they just create a form. Like a report, when reporting a bug or a hacker. And in that form, you show proof of your console account and pc account. Then they just send you auric cells, iri shards, and bp to match what you've accumulated on the console to your pc account? Like seriously using your time and resources for that is better than "new content" anyway. I personally play A LOT less now because i dont want to regrind on pc and playing on xbox is ######### performance wise by comparison. Which means i havent spent any money since buying the game and some of the dlcs when i got it for steam. Screw ui updates and cosmetics.

This seems almost too simple and obvious but hey, it's BHVR... Not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed. Tbf I wouldn't be surprised if they were doing this on purpose in a poor attempt to get people to spend more money by having to repurchase stuff (DLC, cosmetics etc). They seem like a short sighted, greedy company like that.

The reason cross-progression is a thing for Switch is because people voted on it in one of the player satisfaction surveys. It's a a hybrid portable console so you can play dead by daylight wherever you want and that's why people want it for cross-progression the most.
