My thoughts on the new MMR system.
I am going to start off by saying this is from someone who plays the game at about a 60 40 split(killer, survivor)
The 24 hours of the new MMR system was the most unpleasant gaming experience I have ever had in a very long time. Let me explain.
The new MMR system made my favorite killer, Blight completely unplayable. First off I would have to wait in a lobby of at least 20mins. The game that persisted was a game where using the best perks, addons, and tactics barley resulted in a 1k and rarely a 2k. I had to resort to tunneling and slugging just to get 1 kill, with Ruin, Pop, BBQ, and Discordance, with Blighted Crow, and Alchemist ring. My point is I cant play any more fun games with Blight simply because I am at too high of an MMR with him. With extremely long que times and extremely short and sweaty comp teams it completely killed my mode to play blight. Now with other killers it wasn't as bad, I actually had challenging games that were fun. I didn't have to run the best builds and use the best tactics and I could still reliably 2k while having to try a little bit.
For survivor I have mixed emotions. Yes, it was nice to be paired with good teammates I was exvulsibly going up against Stridor Spirit and Forever Freddy. Out of 15 Survivor games I had 10 spirits and 5 Freddie's. I saw no other killers and no other perk combos. While I was able to escape around 40% of the time it wasn't fun. Facing the same two killers over and over again is so boring.
I don't want to have easy games, that's not what I am asking for. What I am however is to be able to play a killer like Blight and have a more fun and relaxed game where I can at least get 1k without resorting to the best of the best, and have survivor games against more then the same two killers and killer builds. DBD is not ready for an MMR system like this.
In conclusion I think a SBMM would ruin the experience for good players and potently driving them away because they don't want to have the same type of game over and over again.
Thanks for reading, GLHF.
