That Dreaful Legion build...
So this might be a bit controversial, but man oh man do I hate seeing Legions using the Thanat+Ruin combo. By no means is this combo of perks overpowered, but jesus christ it can't be fun. I physically refuse to see how playing a legion with this combo is fun for anyone. But then again, I don't see how legion is fun, because they're a M1 killer with tracking abilities and speed, who honestly suck when compared to other killers like Billy, Blight or Doctor.
So Ruin is a hex, so when it's gone, it's gone. Fair enough, the survivors aren't going to find it every game so it can be good for the most part, but most people who use it are just lazy killers, which is why I hate it on legions. Thanat is also a good perk, and has a lot of good counters, like teamwork, Prove Thyself, Resilience and Tool boxes, and legion for the most killer is fine to play against, although I could never see why they're fun to play.
The issue is, with this combo of perks, it basically turns what should be a 10-20 minute game into an extremely long back and forth between the killer and the survivors. I believe there is actually more survivor pressure for Legion then any other killer in the game.
How is it fun, to make a game last longer than the 10 minute average that games usually last for? I literally could not fathom why people like to make this game take as long as it possibly can for survivors, especially if they're using perks like Corrupt or Agitation.
Don't get me wrong, play however you want, but personally I just can't see how it's fun to be a basic M1 killer and long out games for as long as possible.
TL:DR, Legion is a fine killer, Thanat and Ruin are fine perks, but paired together i think they make the most boring killer to face - not in terms of gameplay but because the games are longer than the average 10-20 minute game. What do you guys think? Let me know.

By the Entity, this title scared me. For a moment, I thought you were going to talk about one of my worst nightmares. THE most dreadful, broken, and unfair Legion build that ever existed. Infinite Mending Legion rings a bell, doesn't it?
As for the Thana + Ruin combo, it is not that bad. Legion is not a very strong killer, and this combo alone can't hold the gens forever.

I dont see a problem with thana and ruin on legion. Legion and plague are the only two killers where thana isn't garbage. Ruin is usually gone within the first 2 minutes so its nice to have a second reliable slow down perk. Ruin + pop has been my go to since ruin rework.

You don't even know where it starts if you want the mega legion no fun allowed build im not saying its good but it really will slow the game down to a ridicules extent
Perks-
Thrilling
Ruin
Thanat
Pop
Addons-
Stolen sketch book
Defaced Smiley pin
you see a while ago the devs decided to get rid of all the mangled effect timers so what the defaced smiley pin effect was-
- Hitting a Survivor highlighted by Killer Instinct while in Feral Frenzy applies the Mangled Status Effect for 60 seconds.
Now it is
- Hitting a Survivor highlighted by Killer Instinct while in Feral Frenzy applies the Mangled Status Effect until healed.
and the sketch book lets to easily apply this to as many survivors as possible
Survivors after being mangled now have to choose between 20% slowdown while injured all game +ruin into pop or heal through mangled
edit if they heal your legion btw just re apply it

How dare they use perks that actually synergize with their powers.
Thana adds 20 seconds to a gen if at full power if you work on it alone. 11.8 seconds with 2 persons.
Ruin can be cleansed and even if not only works if the Legion is actually not being lazy and going around defending gens
It's a strong combo yes. Nowhere near problematic.

They didn't say it was strong just unfun to play against and they acknowledged that and as a legion player who does abuse this sometimes with some broken addons when i just want a chill ez game i agree, are there more pressing issues yes should a change be made, not at the expense of other things but people are actually in the right to complain about it tbh

Fun is subjective though and things really shouldn't be changed for that unless it's something absolutly dreadfull to go against. Kinda reminds me of Forever Freddy. Difference is that against thanaruin you still can do something about it and Legion has to do something to actually make it work. Unlike Forever Freddy who just had all his slowdown by default
Longer games with more chases doesn't sound so bad. I would take a 20 minute Legion game vs a 5 minute game where i didn't interract with the killer at all or where i stepped in a trap and then got ignored in the basement any day.
Less time spend in lobbies, very likely to get all your bloodpoints in that match.
Now again fun is subjective and OP has every right to find it unfun and to voice their opinion on it. I'm just voicing mine that it's not something problematic and thus not likely to be changed. I use this combo too from time to time and i've never had games going 20+ minutes outside of survivors just hiding when there are 2 left.

Legion isn't very good so the best tactic with him is just to try and slow down the game as much as possible. He's crying out for a full rework but sadly doesn't appear to be on the horizon.

I mean, Legion is a slowdown killer with a poor 1v1 chasing potential so you slow the game down to buy yourself time to go on chases and get hooks and whatnot.

I don't need ruin, I don't need thana.
Nothing escapes from my
"Mr X gonna give it to ya" Legion Build

I am intrigued. Care to share your secrets?

- Bamboozle
- Brutal Strength
- Fire Up
the 4th perk is a flex perk.
- BBQ for Info and BPS
- Pop / Ruin / Surge for gen regression
- Enduring - Because screw those pallets, nothing can stop you. Legion is designed and has a faith of eating pallets for breakfast, noon and dinner.
- Spirit fury - it's not as great without Enduring but it works. Brutal Strength also helps this perk.
- Any other of your choice
I very much prefer Enduring since it synergies with Fire Up & especially Brutal Strength. However, I do choose Pop from time to time.
The whole Idea of Mr. X is every time fight him he becomes more powerful in the series. At one point he's human, then a monster, then an abomination. This applies to Legion as well. Every time you fight him, respectively, every time a gen is done, he grows in power.
Fire up can also mess up flashlight saving which is a very nice. I've had a few people rage at me for that. It was funny. It increases the speed at which you pick up survivors.
Bamboozle & Fire up make vaulting pallets / windows insanely fast. Bamboozle also blocks the window if you're vaulting in Feral Frenzy. Few know this. On top of this, once you have some stacks of fire up, 2+ you can vault very fast and make some impossible plays you wouldn't otherwise.
It's not by all means the best build but it can pull some absolutely insane plays.
This however requires an experienced legion player.
EDIT: as shi-.... Forgot to cover the addons.
For addons I would recommend the ones that increase feral frenzy duration
Then the ones that decreases his cooldown when getting out of Feral Frenzy.
If you're feeling extra spicy, use iridescent button.

I don't mind that at all, I mean Legion is not a terribly strong killer so the amount of time you can waste with him it's rarely an issue.
The only thing that annoys me with legion is Iri button; which is incredibly annoying. I don't find it overpowered or anything, but having his (max proximity mind you) terror radius, in your ear, like every 10 seconds all bloody game is soooooo obnoxious. It's cute and all for the first 30 seconds because you are like "Is he coming? Oh no....oh wait?! Oh no....he just has iri button...." and then after that it's just an annoying thing you have to try and tune out.

That actually sounds amazing, not gonna lie

Thana + pop are much more consistent. Or even surge. They can't cleanse that

A killer that gets anything out of ruin is the literal opposite of lazy. Ruin rewards the killer for pushing gens. Without ruin pushing a survivor off a gen does literally NOTHING it just puts the gen on pause.

I know Raging Ryuga on YT and Twitch calls it the unbeatable legion build cuz he's almost never lost a game with it and he's a legion main.
