Achievement Hunting

I like achievement hunting. I just finished going through all my survivors getting the Adept achievements where you escape using only that survivor's unique perks. Every one of them was "rare", nearly all of them with only a fraction of a percent of players having that achievement.

Why is that? When I look at builds other players are using at the end of the match I often see a mix of survivor unique perks, often all at level 3. And in the forums I see lots of complaints about perks being over powered, etc.

I saw one comment in a thread where someone mentioned they have a killer build that is "too easy". There is a simple fix for that. Change up the perks. Or try playing without any perks. Challenge yourself.

I would love to see a new feature added that puts you in a truly random game. Let the game randomly assign your perks. Maybe even randomly assign your character.

The game is all about adapting to the situation. The random map. The random teammates if you are solo surviving. Not knowing the killer you will face until the match launches. I love that aspect of the game.

Play your cards as they are dealt. If it doesn't go well, learn from it and adapt. There is no reason a game should stress anyone out. The mind games go far beyond looping with meta builds and perks you think your opponent should or should not have.

I feel you have to play quite a bit to get to the confidence of letting go of a meta build.

Took me a while but I often play without gen regression. Makes the games more challenging and gives extra advantages in other areas.

Rather than buying more time by affecting gens, I bring perks to find survivors or bring perks that help me catch survivors just a bit quicker. Turns out that slows the game down too.

If I lose enough I’ll slink back into Pop, Ruin, etc.
