Pros and Cons to fifth perk slot
With how long this game's been going on, I'm surprised they've kept it to the same number of perk slots for nearly five years. For me, the only downside to having another perk available for both sides is the prevalence of crutch meta perks, but that's less an issue of availability than it is just the brokenness of the perks. On a more positive side, it could allow for greater experimentation of builds. But that's how I see it. There could be other factors I never thought of.

A fifth perk slot is something I really want to see in action! It would really freshen up the game, much more than a new chapter would. Plus, it would give everyone more room to experiment and have fun with the game. We have all these perks and only being able to choose 4 at a time makes me feel way too boxed-in

I think there should be a limited time gamemode or something where everyone can have 8 perks. Imagine the chaos.

The problem with a fifth perk slot is that it would just cause complete chaos, 4 perks that can stack on survivors is already pretty bad to go against. Also, imagine a spirit with stridor, sloppy, thrilling, and stbfl. Or what about a nurse with corrupt, ruin, undying, BBQ, and infectious fright. The game needs to stay at four perk slots max, maybe in a custom game you could change this, but that's it.

A new slot only for hex or other type of perk (example :only tracking)
And a slot only for exhausted,
But you can use other slot for every perk included hex/exhausted.

Pro's: You get a 5th perk.
Con's: You have to rebalance the entire game.

pros: more variety, will make deciding which perks you want to use in your build less stressful
cons: it will expand the meta, will encourage small pp builds

The pros would be I could run shadowborn on every killer and have 4 other perks at last.
The cons...don't care, I want to use 4 perks with shadowborn.

DS+UB+DH+IW+SG+BT+OOO+PT, on Midwich, vs a Ruin+Undying+Infectious+NOED+Tinkerer+BBQ+MYC+Surveillance Nurse.
The sheer amount of sweat in that one game would be enough to make pigs globally envious.
