How long to get a character?
I'm decently new to dbd and only have probably 40/50 hours in the game. I'm not really looking to put money into the game (although executioner is so tempting). Anyways, I'm just wondering how long it takes to earn enough iridescent shards to buy a character like Oni or Wraith? Thanks!
Edit: Thanks for the answers^^ I'll keep leveling and see if I started earning a bunch then!

I mean.. after those hours you did play, how many shards did you earn?
9K are needed for one character.
i think someone stated just today it should be around 35-40 h of gameplay to get those shards. I never really paid attention to that..

It depends really how often you play. if you play consistently then it should take a few hours to get 9k shards

You don't buy characters with bloodpoints and you don't start with anything unless there is some sort of event going on. Also you need to be player level 46 not character level. Everytime you level up your player level you gain iridescent shards. By the time you are player level 46 you should have a little over 9k shards which is enough for your first character.

A quick Google search tells me that you should have 9k shards (assuming you haven't spent any yet) when you hit level 46 which is enough to buy your first free character.

Was I supposed to start with shards or something then..? For instance, my friend said he started with 1m bp but I started at 0. I'm at about 5k shards right now.

I make about 25k bp a match and 200 shards which leaves me a bit confused. I'm level 31 on doctor and 32 on hag so I've definitely played enough according to people? Is my account syncing wrong or something?

Also do know that from level 1 - 49 you wont be getting the most shards, from level 50 - 100 you will be getting 300 shards every level and 300 x 50 equals 15,000 shards just from the second half alone
you must have used shards to have that low amount with the levels you have
i have around 2.7k hours into dbd

Everyone start with 0 shards and 0 BP. Maybe your friend started during an Event and got BP that way? There were also Events were you could get Shards for logging in
also it depends how many of those 40/50 hours you actually spent in a match and how many in lobby/match queue or otherwise in the menus. You only get shards in matches afaik.
