The DBD experience (aka why nobody plays killer)
- Try to practise Nurse who I was never amazing with, but very rusty now
- Get Midwich which is a hard map to get used to
- Full swf
- Get 4 bbq tokens, fresh hook everytime
- Chase a survivor at the end but get cucked by adrenaline
- Manage to hit this survivor as they close in on the exit gates, the other 3 of them at the exit gates tbagging me despite me playing "fair". Left every hook immediately and never hooked the same person twice
- Actually managed to get the injured survivor down at the exit gates
- SWF run to "heal tech" (another fun exploit....err I mean mechanic, totally doesn't need fixing btw )
- Manage to pick them up and somehow miraculously hook them despite the swf trying to bodyblock
- Trade a few hooks at the end as the swf swarm it and keep trying to bodyblock
- They make it out, all 4 rapidly tbagging as hard as they could
- Get heavily verbally abused post game, told ez and sworn at and called all sorts of names that would ironically get me banned from these forums if I was to repeat it (because the devs don't want to see it, but they've been perfectly fine with you getting the abuse)
You see how this must be for new players? you see how "playing fair" doesn't make a damn bit of difference? you see how there's literally no point to caring when survivors cry when you camp them?
I don't even know why I'm saying this I'm sure you've all seen it. It's a shame the development studio is too apathetic towards their own game to actually fix anything (because they don't play it, they don't experience this, therefore they could not care less) regarding the experience and then they just wonder why survivors are constantly crying about queue times - here's a hint, the queue time problems are you own doing. I'm used to this trash but a lot of new players are completely put off by it.

I think you solved your own problem by saying "Try to practice Nuse".
Nurse is the best killer in the game and she can destroy basically any survivor if you are good enough. When you practicing you are not going to be at that level and it's going to be a rough time for a while, just like practicing at any fighting game.
However the reward is being good at Nurse.
10 -
I'm done playing fair honestly, the gloves are basically off when it comes to those god complex survivors. Play however you would like to, and if the survivors get salty then you know you did a good job. Must not feel good to them when the shoe is on the other foot, but it's fine for them to "bully".
35 -
I'm not sure how practicing nurse makes it ok for people to tell you to ######### irl.
The upsetting thing isn't the loss, it's the toxic slurry of ######### you catch in chat win or lose.
27 -
I agree it's never ok to be toxic to someone over stuff like that but the same thing happens to survivors from the killer. The amount of BM and "gg ez"s and slurs I get as a survivor is quite staggering.
1 -
I personally am of the opinion that we need harder penalties for those who throw abuse. Screw warnings, someone says the n-word or tells me to jump off a cliff, they risk immediately losing their privilege to play. I don't really care who says it's unfair. People who throw abuse are likely to do it again.
I'd also prefer an option to disable the chat entirely in the settings so that, even if it's closed, the "curiosity kills the cat" factor doesn't come into effect. I'm too much of a nice person to ignore saying gg.
30 -
Here we go again. The same thing very rarely happens from the killer please stop with this old argument
11 -
What is this "heal tech"?
1 -
I highly disagree. I play around 40 hours a week as a solo survivor and there is rarely toxicity coming from the survivors. Of course it happens every once in a while but it honestly is around the same from killers as survivors. Even when there is toxicity it's usually hard to pin down exactly who started it because it usually starts in the games.
4 -
While I have had salty and toxic killers in the past, I have definitely seen more survivors being toxic than killers in both my games as killer and survivor. Fyi I always try and give hatch when possible, and I won't tunnel if I can help it. At times I've even left survivors on the hook so they can be rescued, but I remember a few times their team mates letting them die and them flaming me for it.
10 -
It does make me laugh when survivors complain about queue times and then those same survivors will go into a lobby to deliberately try to provoke the killer and do anything they can to make them have a miserable gaming experience. How do they not put two and two together?
26 -
Yeah...I feel sorry for new killers...I don't see them picking up the game for more than like 5 rounds and uninstalling....
9 -
I know it's an easy copout to post Scott Jund content, but today is one of those kinda days to remember this.
7 -
A crawling survivor can not be picked up when being healed by another survivor. So killer has to hit the one healing the downed survivor. Killers have to wait a second because of the hit animation, the survivor on ground pulls further towards exit. The next healthy survivor jumps in. They walk the down survivor out the exit.
The tech wouldn’t be as disliked on killer side if it involved risk but everyone knows killer can only shoulder one survivor, so everyone swarms in on a downed survivor at exit gates.
14 -
The next team took the full brunt of it. They had a key, toolbox + bnp, and map offering so I wouldn't feel too bad.
I need to stress though that it wasn't tilt from this game that did it, it's tilt from 90% of games this week. Everygame is like this, just toxic shits everygame who are only playing DBD to annoy and frustrate other people. Again, this is why nobody wants to play killer.
But I discovered that they don't seem to like it when you facecamp and repeatedly hit them on hook. At least now when I get abuse post game I can understand why.
Yeah yeah I'm continuing the circle but I really couldn't care less anymore. This is the worst community I've ever seen and it's actually enjoyable playing like a piece of ######### to all of these toxic survivors. That feeling when it's click click, tbag tbag.....and then the disconnect when they get toxic back :)
3 -
I feel sad for both sides tbh, the survivor who unknowingly got smashed the hell up after that game, and the killers who had to endure a BS match before they had enough.
Its a toxic cycle, but, just a strange side note. Its also the same cycle that breeds actual mass killers. People get abused, they finally snap when they've had enough, and take it out on everybody, because theres no way to find that same group of people that abused you or pay them back.
After playing this game for a while, you get to know peoples heads and how they work, able to predict 1 step to the next.
I say, if you wanna have a calm relaxing time with this game, use that experience, study the survivors, the way their brain works, their expectations. And don't spend your energy on killing them. Relax....and let their own human psychology kill themselves. Their own altruism, their own desperation, their own arrogance, all of those negative human qualities that people have in the back of their pocket. And use this game to exploit those things. At the end of the match you kill 3 to 4 of them....and they have nothing to be angry with but themselves.
It takes a while to get to that point, but if I can do it, anybody can do it. Look at their skins, look at their chase habits, remember the perks they may be using, analyze how they respond when you have the advantage, look for weak links in the team, look for overly heroic team mates....<---prediction, prediction, prediction. And by all means, when you ruin one of their techniques, or plans....RELISH in it....you can't hear what they're saying you have no idea how they actually responded...but just imagine how they would. You ruin a body block, think to yourself how they must be feeling, and how those emotions will get them to make yet another mistake. Use what you know to formulate a plan....use what you don't know to predict how people feel, and use the combination of both to manipulate people into dying. Not your fault if they just run into your baseball bat. Right? BECOME, THE KILLER!
3 -
I don't get much toxic stuff post game honestly.
The problem is though when you do it's people who try and justify it by saying things that are wrong, I think that's why it's so annoying to me haha.
Like they will go "lol rank 2?!?! how you get that rank camping" and it's like I NEVER CAMPED. THAT WASN'T EVEN A THING THAT HAPPENED AT ANY POINT IN TIME; or something happened entirely the survivor's fault like they swarmed the hook or something.
It's almost entirely fictitious complaints and excuses; laden with abusive commentary.
3 -
Solo survivor. This is why you don't see the toxicity. Solo survivors are normal people and leave when they die. SWF have the pack mentality thing going and egg each other on.
As usual the problems in this game all stem from SWF.

I had my friend play DBD on my pc yesterday as Killer. I picked Wraith because of the easiest Killer to play. He's really noob, has to say, he never play games that fast pace (FPS, 1v1 fighting ect).
Survivor just spam fast vault, tbag, flash clicking, pointing. Funny that he didnt understand what those mean, so he was immune to them.
2 -
Congrats on being part of the problem.
5 -
I completely agree the crap talk in end game chat is toxic. Ok, the teabagging and flashlight clicking is a little too. The rest of the stuff just sounds like them trying to win the game. I see how it is frustrating, but if their goal is to try to get as many of the four to escape as possible, why wouldn’t they hook rush and “ heal tech”?
if you want to play “nice” and not tunnel, camp, and slap the person on the hook, that’s your call. But you can’t expect someone on the other side to take it easy just because you think they should.
Turn the chat off so you don’t have to see it and just tell yourself the teabagging and flashlight clicking is just them saying thanks for the fun match. I think we would all be happier with this game if we did.
1 -
I played some survivors and I never got insulted by any killer. U r lying, stop lying u lier
4 -
I guess u crouch above the downed survivor and prevent the killer from picking him up
1 -
"It's a shame the development studio is too apathetic towards their own game to actually fix anything"
----
They gave you a button to hide post-game chat. If you don't want to use it, don't bother crying over what was said.

sluzzy 2.0
7 -
LOL
1 -
Because they tell themselves that only the bad killers quit and that there are no queues.
7 -
I literally play 40 hours of survivor a week
2 -
I played in those Toxci MWF 2 lobbies Scott is talking about. I myself was very Toxic in some of those lobbies... But to say DBD isn't just as toxic, well he's a streamer on PC, his experience does NOT encompass all experiences of DBD players. I have literal hundreds of toxic messages from players of this game going out of their way after the game to message me on PS4, saying all kinds of ######### including the group messages where they say GG EZ GIT GUD, #########, and of course all the slurs people love to complain about.
Scott is just particularly lucky if he doesn't see how toxic this game can be. Of course the Toxicity has died down A Lot and I barely get any messages any more, but at one point this was absolutely the game where I got the most negative comments (and judging from some of the old steam profiles of folks who played this game back then, it wasn't exactly exclusive to ps4.
3 -
It's hilarious to think they were trying so hard to flip your boy off in game equivalent terms and he was just sitting there like "I don't get it, why do they keep doing squats, this is so stupid lol"
0 -
The devs actually do play but when they do they have BHVR in their name so nobody says ######### to them.
5 -
If the other side is playing what you would call “toxic” then you can play toxic back
1 -
I dont know why anyone bothers complaining about survivors being toxic. You know you deserved that GG EZ BABY KILLER. You tunneled and camped you deserve those slurs and messages. The irony in it is when its the t-bagging clicky flashlight person that wants you to chase them and you do and kill them they slide into your DMs faster than a thirsty dude seeing some skin. They proceed to berate you with tunneler and camper, they literally asked to be chased etc.
Lately Ive taken a great liking to playing basement bubba and man let me tell you I have been having a blast. Its like doing a gen, you slide into the corner (holding whatever button you do to repair) and wait for the death or second phase. Then I am off to my next survivor or gen whatever youd like to call them.
1 -
can you please be specific as to what survivors do in the lobby to make killers match a bad experience??
0 -
I wasnt annoyed about them playing hard, I was trying to get the point across that learning as a new player and going up against a co-ordinated team must be extremely frustrating. Heck we know it is because we’ve all been there and it doesn’t help that 99% of the killers have not been balanced for swf.
Originally I thought the constant hook trades and hook swarming at the end were the reason for abuse but they were all tbagging before that happened so I guess not. I forget to add they made it out due to DS, guess I must have tunneled when they farm them off the hook in front of me at the exit gates. Thats one part of DS that isnt getting nerfed.
2 -
No actually DS will disable when a survivor unhooks someone.
0 -
"A lion does not concern himself with the opinion of sheep"
Tywin Lannister pretty much sums it up for me.
2 -
I often start the game, get into killer lobby and then stare at the screen trying to make myself play killer, because most of the matches is 110% sweat all the time then just nope out of the game. I just don't see any incentive to play as one and be a plaything for some sweatlords who stack everything in their favor.
3 -
These aren't really problems, even the heal tech isn't necessarily even an exploit. You're really just describing either survivors being toxic or perks in action. Seems very much like "we live in a society" to me.
0 -
Yeah, going against them can be annoying even when you aren’t new. But the way you post it seems you blame them for everything you experienced. But try to remember what is there fault and not their fault. Adrenaline and DS are just perks of the game. Hook rushing and “heal tech” are mechanics of this game. These are balanced by the dev team. The people playing survivor are just using these because that is how they feel is the best way for them to win. Killers have strong perks too and use them to win. Killers have unfun tactics to play against that they use to win.
I’m not saying blame the devs. They are doing the best they can. They have to balance the game for both sides. They are trying to make match making better. But if it means I would have to wait 10+ minutes for a queue, I’d rather go against a team that isn’t the same skill as me, either way. Same goes for the survivor side.
A lot of things feel frustrating when you are just learning it. That is because we all have a desire to be good at what we are doing and have an unrealistic expectation that we will learn it fast and be better than average.
Yep, they may have been trying to taunt you. Turn off end game chat. You get better by playing against people better than you so you can learn what works and what doesn’t. I look at survivors that teabag and flashlight click as a potential challenge and way for me to learn and go after them. If I’m not in the mood to see teabagging or flashlight clicking at the end, I just get the end game collapse going and afk a couple minutes while they butt dance to their disco light.

I was getting ready for a nice chill game the other day. I was Pig and I end up getting pallet town the game map. first guy I down put a trap on and go to a hook. The other three swarm me and sabo the hook. im like ok whatever. wait till they pick up the guy again and I down him and same thing. Im then like whatever this guy is staying on the ground and bleeding out. they are all just hovering around as I watch him die. They managed to get him up a few times but I just kept following him and knocked him down until he bled out. then the game went back to normal kinda and got two more kills and the last one got the hatch.
2 -
Playing Nurse is a morally gray thing to do if you ask me. She's nowhere near balanced for this game. All she has is a measily little learning curve and then she's just unbeatable. I would rather not play as her or against her over other killers.
0 -
They’ll probably call you a survivor main, and bash you because you don’t fit the survivor = bad, killer = good mentality. But hey, it was worth a try.
1 -
The tbagging and abuse is what I blame them for.
The 4 people working as a co-ordinated swf is a balance problem and its extremely frustrating for new players to overcome, especially due to smurfs and ranking issues. This game didnt surprise me it just struck a chord with me because im sure we all remember being new at the game and being thrown in with experienced swf who looped us and flashlight blinded us at every opportunity. I remember maybe my 3rd game of dbd killer and I couldnt hit a specific Meg who looped me constantly nor pick up a downed survivor without getting flashlight blinded. It was very frustrating. These mechanics aren’t beginner friendly which is ironic for a casual game.
I aint fussed about the outcome because ive been better with nurse im just rusty as hell, and I was playing without shadowborn which I used to use so I think that affected my blink ranges massively. Thats why I played so fair, I wasnt expecting to win just wanted the bbq tokens but seeing survivors resort to being toxic no matter what just shows its not avout how the killer plays at all, the toxicity is ingrained into the game.
Unless a killer hard tunnels off hook or facecamps then I dont see why people need to be jerks. It only makes other not want to play killer. All we ever see on these forums relating to killer are words like “anxious” “bullying” and “stress”. A damn videogame shouldnt make people feel this way and I’ve never seen any other game where people didnt want to play because the game/role caused anxiety.
2 -
I wouldn't go there. One day someone's gonna call you Sluzzy just because they disagree with your opinion, and everyone's gonna bandwagon against you. That is if you actually formulate your own opinions instead of going around everyone's posts saying "wrong", "lol", "okay".
5 -
theres just so many posts complaining about something that i cant take them seriously anymore

I’ve started to play killer again and I’m relearning nurse as well. I’ve been playing perkless and without add ons so that I can learn her core basics. Spawn locations and survivor locations so once I get good without perks or add ons it will make it that much easier with perks. I feel like I rely to heavy on perks and I very rarely get end game salt because I usually get at least a 2k so when I do get salt I can say you got beat by a perkless killer let’s see how you play perkless then we can talk. It’s my most common response or just not respond at all

I stream almost always Killer gameplay on Twitch and i almost never play Nurse , i play a whole lot of other killers like Pig, Clown, Huntress, ect. and i am able to 4k or 3k just fine, i believe you havent seen every bit of thing that has to do with why more people are playing survivor, playing Killer is imo so much more fun than Survivor

I wish there was a way to opt out of getting lobbied SWF matches as a solo player. I hate participating in these regardless of whether I'm playing survivor or killer. They make sure the game is only enjoyable for themselves and no one else. They think they're funny/smart when they troll in the game but they just look try-hard and desperate for attention.
I remember one of the first times I played Wraith (rank 20) I got matched with green rank SWF, they made the game beyond boring and annoying for me (constantly blinding me, using BT, trolling me etc). They spent the full EGC teabagging at the exit. It's funny though because they acted as if they'd escaped like a rank 1 Nurse or something, not a rank 20 new-to-the-game killer. Honestly I get second hand embarrassment just thinking about it. 🤣
Yet these are the first people to shout "camper" in the end game chat. These types of players love being toxic, but hate being on the receiving end of any toxicity i.e. when they're losing. That's just a fact.

This is the DBD experience... in the beginning. Once you get quite proficient or pretty good at killer, you can pretty much win more than 90% of the time.

way to miss the point, holy sh**
