Hag mains

Just picked her up and was wondering if setting up to protect a three gen was her most effective strategy? My perks are m&a, Stbl, sloppy butcher and bb&c for bloodpoints.

It is an effective strategy, but not one you should rely on instead of playing normally. It is also an unfun one for both sides since it just stretchest out the game. BBQ is a good perk, but you could use a better one since you are playing Hag. Hag is a more territorial kill like trapper, so BBQ is not the best choice on her but totally fine if you still like it or just want BPs. Otherwise, you have chosen very solid perks on her.

The best trap strategy is to set up traps as you move across to the middle of the map, or while making your way to closer generators if possible. If you are new at Hag, I would suggest using corrupt intervention in place of BBQ so you have an easier early game.

Hag and Trapper are territorial killers. You don't have to protect only 3 gens, but also don't spread out your traps too thin. Knowing where to trap and what chases to take are things you will master as you play her.

I usually begin a game heavily trapping one quadrant of the map, or spilling into another area. The general strategy I try to follow is to honeycomb an area and the go hunting elsewhere to herd survivors into it. It's never worth it to try and chase survivors through areas where there are no traps.

However, you can get unlucky and have a veteran survivor spawn near you, and once they notice you're playing the Hag they'll follow you around and set off most of your traps. This effectively prevents you from ever getting a start in the match.

I notice u don't really run any anti-gen like corrupt, pop, or ruin. So I guess a 3 gen is your best bet to win most games. otherwise, if u run anti-gen, create a web of traps around the gens and the middle area.

What perks do you have on her? Also I would not do a 3 gen, instead go for an area with good traffic that is easy to protect and set up

Don't always go for the three gen you can stretch it out. Trap good loops or main buildings. And if you know where survivors go enough you can trap those spots. Perk wise BBQ yes I understand for BP but gameplay wise it's bad on Hag since you shouldn't be chasing people so far away.

The way I play Hag is very aggressive. I'll set up a small web in high traffic areas depending on the map then use the rest in chases for shutting down difficult loops or mind games.

The best thing for her is to learn your maps and survivor pathing. You can just prox hooks with traps but she's more fun to take an aggressive approach with, imo.

For a build on her lately I've been using, BBQ for the BP, Franklin's for those filthy beamers and med kits, Third Seal cause it's fun, and most recently Undying to protect Third Seal but Monitor is fantastic on her.

A really sweaty try hard build that is the definition of No Fun Allowed is STBFL, Make Your Choice, Monitor and whatever else you like.

I play on controller so I can easily spam left bumper in chases to get insta teleports but if you are on M+Kb you can bind teleport to the scroll wheel to super fast teleport but I personally think players that use things like that need their hands held because their reflexes must be trash.

Bbq is nice for the points and all but for Hag, it isn't really useful I don't think? Sure you'll know which direction they're going but you can easily push survivors to your side of the trapped map. Maybe use anti gen perks such as ruin, surge, possibly thrilling tremors (gives great information where the survivors are currently at and if you need to push them away from that area) or corrupt intervention that'll buy you time to set up your traps and establish territory at the start of the game. Hag is a defensive killer that is like a spider making a web.

Sloppy is good too as it slows down the healing (if you're using the waterlogged shoe add on or any add on that removes her teleports I'd suggest a nurse's calling) perks like insidious, or any real aggressive perks aren't necessary since Hag is defense rather than offense. Though it's totally possible to play a complete aggro Hag so if that's your style... Feel free to slap those on but it's probably not gonna do much for you if you're playing her as low-key, setting her traps and poking survivors in the path of a trap.

Trap placements: I'd recommend placing traps in drop down points the survivors will trigger trying to out chase you or paths survivors are traffic heavy. You can place traps in front of gens / hooks but if you're dealing with a competent team that aren't potatoes, they'll just crouch over those so then your option is to place them heavily in drop down points, heavy traffic area, of course looping spots, etc. Teleportation is not always necessary. When a survivor triggers a trap, you can guess they'll turn around and run the other way and if you were chasing them, well... Slap.

Just some tips I've found to be effective. Hag was my first main little monster and she still is, she just shares the spotlight with other killers from time to time lol

not just the 3 gen you want to protect the half of the map that has the most gens preferably close to each other, then cover that half with traps and simply stop heavily protecting area's that get the gen done until you have a 3 gen.

If you only protect 3 gens then survivors will get the rest done with you having very little hooks, at that point if they try to hard press gens you can only win by snowballing since there won't be any close to death hook.

As for perks regression, stalling, and chase perks.

Info perks are not that good the only one i would ever run is nurses

As for chase perks really im just referring to STBFl as it is really good on hag in situations you get back to back trap triggers.
