Deathslinger ability

Sometimes, when the deathslinger spears me and is not able to pull me towards him and hit me, i am still deeply wounded. Sometimes i am not. Where is the line? I think i should not be wounded afterwards because he couldn´t manage to hit me.

Do you know, when it counts as hit and when not?

If he give up by hitting the m1 when it not in m1 range then u won't get hurt. If he doesn't give up and the health bar of the chain is empty then U get deep wound, but he will be stunned.

If he allows the chain to snap (causing him to be stunned) it instantly injures the survivor and applies the deep wound status effect, but doesn't down them.

If he swings before the chains snaps, he doesn't get stunned and you don't get damaged.

If he lets loose the spear you won't get Deep Wound. If he breaks it or hits you you will get deep wound.

It doesn't make a lot of sense considering in every outcome you have a SPEAR IN YOUR CHEST.

okay, i think i know what you are confused about.

the way the Deathslingers Redeemer works in this regard is as follows:

once you get speared, you are put on a chain and pulled towards him, only being able to shift to the left or right.

this chain you are on has a set amount of charges, which it is going to lose over time. This process can be sped up by both the Killer (reeling the survivor in) and the survivor (wiggeling around). Additionally, should there be an object inbetween you and the killer, an object the chain has to touch / go through, it is going to lose its charges about twice as fast.

should the chain run out of charges, an event will occur that is called the "chain break". uppon the chain breaking, the killer is stunned for 4 seconds and the survivor is free, however they are also deeply wounded.

the killer can also, at any point in time, manually remove the chain from the survivor by attacking. this action will allow the killer to avoid the stun he would get with the chain breaking and they will still put you into deep wound, should their attack hit you.

however, if they swing and miss their attack, the survivor is released from the chain without any penalty whatsoever.

this is why sometimes you escape the Redeemer without being injured, its because the Killer manually ended the reeling process and missed their attack.

you forget this is the game where you heal from grevious chainsaw wounds with a back rub and get sacrificed to a malevolent spider goddess who likes to feed on hope and despair like some weird monokuma wannabe, let's not apply realism here.

True. Another pedantic thought of mine is that it really bothers me that getting shot flips you around and pulls you in, I'd love it if it stuck out your back and dragged you in while trying to run away.
