Are the survivors dead?

Does them being taken by the entity mean they died and then were taken spiritually? or are we talking some hp lovecraft take their body to another dimension to die over and over again? Has this been answered? I could be out of the loop.

    I don’t think so because none of their lores said they died, they just got sucked up by the entity. The saying “death is not an escape” makes me think they are in fact alive in the realm. Whether or not a survivor survives a trial or gets sacrificed, they don’t actually live or die as it’s just a never-ending cycle.

    Technically they are not dead. They've been abducted into the Entity's realm and the forced to participate in trials. The Entity feeds off of strong emotions, meaning it feeds off the hate and bloodlust of the Killers, and the fear/hope of the survivors. When a survivor is sacrificed they are indeed killed, but the Entity has the ability to revive them, so it does and then supposedly wipes their memories of the death. The ghostly appearance of the survivor as they are taken away by the Entity is what is consumed, being "fattened up" with emotion gained from the trail. In the process however a piece of the survivor's soul is lost, and eventually when the survivor is completely devoid of hope and emotion they are tossed aside into what's referred to as the Void, where they stay in limbo forever.

    Nah, same deal. The Entity revives them. If you read the flavor text of the mories you'll notice that the Entity is granting a boon to the killer. The Entity won't get as much from a survivor getting moried, but keeping the Killers sated makes them more willing to work

    All of the survivors were either lost or near death (Except for yui to yunjin) The only survivors that we know are DEAD are bill and tapp If they get moried or sacrificed they wake up at the campfire
