Underapricated perks.
We talk all about the meta and overpowered. Noed, IW, dead hard, and BBQ.
This threads for shining lovr on your fav looked over perks, and unpopular opinions.
One thing I don't see brought up much is PWYF. Personally I find the speed boost amazing, and starting, then immediately stopping the chase seems to confuse survivors and has occasionally led to them taking a path that's advantageous to me in that moment. It seems to throw off really good survivors when it appears they can (in mere moments, at any moment) calculate their distance between them you and the closest pallet/vault and react accordingly and have timing effing perfected. By moving faster than anticipated, you undone their mindgaming, and it's seems seldom that most survivors noticed until its to late (aside from the obsession of course)
When it's available i seldom don't PWMF.
Edit: typo IW

I tried putting PWYF on Twins, with the idea that I could break chase with obsession, when I call Victor, and when I come back I’d have a speed token.
Maybe pair it’s up with Nemesis to keep a constant flow of speed.
Very inconsistent perk on Twins. Not sure why I couldn’t get it to work sometimes.

I really have a soft spot for autodidact. While it’s a bit slow at first against slugging killers it’s insane
Detectives hunch is the most underrated perk in the game imo. So much info on where totems are, three gens to avoid and chest spawns just in case

I'm not going to lie and say I hate UE, but I understand why people don't love it. I think it's good for certain play styles if it isn't used poorly, and it also looks really silly now lol :)!

People need to put more respect in Dark Devotion. You get undetectable for hitting the obsession and can sneak up on anyone while the obsession has the terror radius confusing other survivors.

NOED is meta/OP?
I mean, it's not fun, but I wouldn't call it meta nor OP.

I was wrecked by third seal yesterday and blinding pig traps. It was shocking

Oh my and my friends have been getting absolutely DESTROYED by third seal recently it can be wild
I just hate how a 4 man on coms pretty much negate the perk, unless someone's running alert or object or something.
For me, I really like Fire Up and Coup De Gras. They both NEED a buff but it's always fun throwing off flashlight saves and window loops with the small action speed boost you get and the mega lunge
They seriously need to beef up Fire Up though. Its numbers are way too low to compare to the better perks. For Coup they REALLY REALLY need to make you not use a token if you end the lunge before you extend it. Even tiny lunges make you lose a token, it's horrendous

I don't know if this perk is underrated but I would bring up Whispers.I haven't watched much DBD content on YouTube lately so I don't know if a lot of people play it but in my opinion Whispers is the best information perk in the game. I use it to find survivors even faster in the beginning, it helps against people who play too immersed, it helps knowing at which exit gate the last survivor is, you can to sneaky little things like waiting that Whispers turns on while standing on the hatch for example. A lot of people say they don't play it because Whispers is a beginner perk and with enough game knowledge you don't need it (which is "kinda" true) but I always say it is quite hard to use for beginners because they can't assess 32m most of the time and it just feels awesome to have. For me Whispers is my all time favorite perk and I think a lot of people underestimate the value of it.

Dang, I was beaten to the punch on both Detective's Hunch AND Dark Devotion?!
Guess I'll just fall back to my third option: Aftercare!
It's just Bond with extra steps, but the whole no-range-limit thing is pretty nifty. If you can fully activate it on all three of your teammates, the amount of information it provides is incredible. Having the perk completely reset itself when you get hooked kind of sucks, but it's activation requirements are very generous (and it'll auto-reactivate on whoever rescues you).
It's an enjoyable perk to bring as part of a pro-altruism build.

People don't appreciate HOPE enough
At level 3, it makes you almost as fast as a 110% speed killer, and it gives you a fighting chance against NOED

Pharmacy, while obviously not meta it's my fav self healing perk other than bringing medkit in match. I find it often better to have one fast heal per match rather than to waste too much time with selfcare or to search for those totems while using inner strength. Plus opening chest speed is nice if you're a chest goblin like myself and have to open each one you see.

I also like it! I started using it with Doctor and it has it's values.
I think Botany is AMAZING and it helps so much in solo queue:
- Heals anyone within 11 seconds or 13 seconds(aprox.), if the Killer has Sloppy Butcher.
- These extra 5 seconds that you don't need to spend healing helps a lot, it's less time for the Killer to back to the hook if I was healing there or any situation where we need a fast heal, and also helps against slugging.
- Combined with a Yellow MedKit + 8 Charge addons gives you 2 heals, or you can use Self-Care with only takes 24 seconds

Whispers seems to be a staple among Docs as it has excellent Synergy with his Static Blast..

One of my favorite perks at the moment is Surveillance. I use it in my Piggy build so I can get easy grabs when people touch my gens.

Great perk to use on Deathslinger I've found. I can't wait to pair it with Dragon's Grip on him.

Iron Grasp.
It's wonderful when dealing with Survivors who like to swarm you to slow you down while carrying their friend to a hook. Was running it on doc yesterday, Slugged two on the way using it, managed to get 3 people on hooks at once at the end, which caused 4th to dc.

Some rare perks like:
- Shadowborn, I use it on every single killer. Just for comfort, I will rather sacrifice one perk slot or play the game with binoculars glued to my eyes. Awareness for my surroundings, Incrased fov can also help those who easily get motion sick, I've heard.
- Spies from the shadows, actually crazy amount of information.
- Urban evasion, kind of works as iron will, muffles your pain moans when you crouch and you can sometimes amazingly hide from the killers during a chase + it looks adorable with new animations.
- Zanshin tactics, allows me to kind of prepare for pallet and possibly pull off some mindgames early, sometimes or maybe it's just pointless baby killer perk for baby killers like me.
- Insidious on rare occasions with some more chill, easy games. Wait by the generator for the survivors to come back thinking you're gone and *BOOM* you're still in the room and you scared them shitless. Just fun to use sometimes.

People underestimate how underrated Mindbreaker can be, it has its moments where it works at the perfect time.

Detective's Hunch is a great perk. I rarely go into games with items and instead just find a chest in the match. It's great for finding your next gen and especially identifying 3 gens you should break. It's been clutch so many times to find hexes. Whenever I don't run it I feel lost.
PWYF works incredibly well with nemesis. Basically if you get stunned you're virtually guaranteed a token. It's a pretty fun meme build. Combo works very well with Myers if you're running a mori add on
