What am I doing wrong?
So far most of my games end up with me getting hardcore tunneled and either 1 or no gens come from a 3-5 minute chase.
Like what the hell is even the point of me even trying to stay in the game when my teammates are killing me as well? I run bond to make sure I don’t interrupt gen progress but they just don’t do anything but hide.
How is it possible for the killer to hardcore focus someone, waste so much time chasing one person, and everyone dies?
im so tempted to bring a key, hide it, run Self care and left behind because I’m tired of being chased and giving my teammates Betty White’s entire lifespan to do gens and they do nothing with the time allotted to them. I use to enjoy playing survivor, cause you’d at least get one person who knows what they should be doing but it’s like nobody knows how to play the game anymore at purple and red ranks.

You need to prioritize yourself when you play solo. Too many selfish or really bad players in solo queue, you have to always think about your survival first. I always run Plunderers and Self Care. Plunderers is great for the chance at getting a key and Self Care is great since 8 out of 10 times you can't rely on your teammates. Inner Strength is better than Self Care if you're good at finding totems.
I wouldn't recommend bringing a key because that'll be just the excuse the killer would use to justify their tunneling. Instead, I recommend you just stop bringing bond because all it will do is let bad teammates bring the killer to you.
Another thing you should do is hide near a gen at the start of the match. Then when the killer finishes their patrol of that gen, you work on it while he goes to look for others. Play as stealthily as the match would allow you. The moment the killer downs someone, get in a locker before he picks them up since most run BBQ. Once they're hooked, go back to the gen if the hooked person is on their first hook and they have hang time.
If you find yourself as the last one left in endgame, Wake Up! is a nifty perk to have. Hide by a gate, wait for the killer to come and see if you're there and then power it up to the point just before the first light comes on and go back to hiding. Wait for the killer to do another pass by and then proceed to open the door. Wake Up! will let you open it 15% faster.
I know stealth is frowned upon by most players, but when playing solo, it really is a must if you want to last long. It's also a great way to punish sweaty killers who want to tunnel and camp from the start. I always run Spine Chill and the moment it flickers, I'm off of the gen and into the shadows I go. It wastes a lot of time for the killer since many of them pretend to leave and always come back 5-6 seconds later, multiple times. Some even waste much more time looking for me in lockers and then behind rocks and trees, while I vanished in the opposite direction.

The reasons i know for getting tunneled myself is because, they find me easy to track / catch, they hate the character i use because of their silly reasons, they found me first, I'm the obsession, i have medkit/ key / map, i rescue from the hook.
I also went through games similar to yours and it's very annoying to die on the first hook, when survivors do nothing and the gate is already open.

Everyone plays differently and makes the game very hard for others.
Plan your escape when everyone is selfish. i find it challenging and fun sometimes.

classic claudete, hiding in a bush. but it's only way in solo queue.

It's weird how much things has changed in solo q. I remember I would get atleast 1 person who knew what to do when they weren't being chased, and they knew how to handle chases too.
I suppose that i should carry plunderer's instead so that I can use the key for when the inevitable happens. Getting chased is the most fun part of the game, but it becomes a chore when your teammates are not utilizing the time you are buying for them. I guess I have to just play the boring stealth game :-(

Hope! will let you open it 15% faster.
You mean Wake Up

Assume that, if you're solo, everyone else is too.
Let's say you get hooked.
Player 2 may be doing a gen and knows it's (usually) the smartest play to stay on it rather than go for a rescue. Player 3 is wandering the map looking for a totem or something for a rift challenge. And player 4 is hiding.
All three players assume someone else is going to help.
If you're solo, run Kindred. No matter what.
The information boost for both you and your teammates is godly. Almost on par with being in a SWF.

Yes, sorry for the mistake and thanks for the correction!

Yea, I really can't loop well, I admit it, but I am not useless. I do objectives and will take aggro for someone if they're being tunneled or on death hook, only if they were a good teammate.

No problem 👍

until they let you hit struggle or die straight up die when the killer wasn't even nearby 😀

As someone who solo q's a lot with a genuine idea of what to do in the game (I'm not a looper, I am currently always practicing to improve so I can strengthen and benefit my team more) I know that is my weakness so I rely on stealthier tactics to get my job done. Last night, I had a match where this was working splendidly, two gens left but there was a Jake. Now this Jake... Good grief. I like to have a general idea where my teammates are, which gen they're working on and lead the killer away if I get caught because at least if I go down, I brought him ways away from my teammate(s) on a gen so they have time to finish it. This Jake I could've strangled. He single handedly brought the killer to his teammates every time. One teammate died because he kept unhooking right in front of the killer. Now where the saga with him and I begin is in killer shack. There was a gen, another teammate was keeping him occupied so I could do a gen (leading him away from where I was working. In this case, they knew what to do) but I guess he found Jake, chased him and Jake ran right into killer shack where I was working on a gen. Now I thought maybe it was an accident 'cuz it happens but he did it again moments later when I moved to another gen and another. I died after I found his ruin totem (I was on second hook immediately after the first because this Jake simply could not wait to unhook me while the killer was a foot away like guys, make sure the killer vacates the area before you hook someone). It was a mistake, admittedly, on my part to associate myself with this Jake. My point? You can't rely on your teammates at all. Especially in solo q.
I'd think more on the lines of stealthy and go full on self survival mode if you notice you were in a chase and you did really well and at least two gens should have popped as you went down but instead your teammates seemed like they decided to get some cookies mid game so brb or bringing him to you while going off to hide. Do what you need to do to get those gens done because solo q survivors can really screw you over and bond isn't gonna do jack when it comes to survivors who sit on their keyboard or controller twiddling their thumbs. If you have Elodie, I'd very much recommend using her perk Appraisal along with Plunderer's Instinct, you can rummage through chests mid game when things seem like they're falling through the cracks because of potato survivors and sometimes you can find a key or a rainbow map. These are two of the items I find mostly. If a killer realizes you're holding a key in the lobby, you are basically asking to be tunneled and camped to ensure you perish to the god that is the Entity.
Or you could run SWF with pals. That always makes survivor more fun for me since it's with people I can communicate with that, "Hey I'm on this gen in killer shack, maybe try to lead the chase away? If you have no choice, let me know so I can get out of dodge." With potato q's? LOL good luck trying to finish a gen and not have a Jake deliver the killer a survivor pudding.
This was in purple ranks btw.

Bond is a personal use, the others don't see your aura.

That solution is unacceptable, just gonna say it.

I’ve been having a bad luck of getting teammates who won’t rescue me and I die on first hook. My suggestion is just focus on your own fun and do as much as you can to earn BP. If your team isn’t helping or doing gens then wreck them. Lead the killer to them etc. if they aren’t going to be a team player then you can be the team killer.

I didn't realize that. Either way, it's a wasted perk in solo when most of your team refuses to heal.

AfterCare is nice sometimes, however most teammates dont know how to turn their freaking camera around so they'll stop running and let me heal them so we'll be able to see each other. Of course there's the chance you get hooked and loose the buff but yeah, it's pretty nice sometimes.
