A possible fix to maps and their design and holding W across the map
Add more walls, different structures throughout the maps with lots of open space, and make maps smaller.
The reason holding W is so strong is because survivors have nothing in their way to stop them from doing so. On a map like mother's dwelling you can waste loads of time against the average m1 killer by simply running in very straight lines, this is without use of the tiles scattered around.
Just a little thing to consider.

This is a big leap and pure imagination, but imagine if they introduced scalable walls for maps. Walls with surfaces that can be climbed like rocks, vines, etc.. Both Killer and Survivors can climb them, but Killers will climb them faster (2s compared to 6s or whatever, it's variable). This could provide stop points on large maps where a Survivor player has to halt and make a choice to go another way or spend time climbing over. For Killers, it can also provide a way to cut off certain loops on the other side. At the very least, it would provide variety to maps because outside of baby Dweets, no Survivors wants to run in a straight line for 30 seconds. It's effective but boring. Scaling walls can change things up a bit.
It might also make some maps like Haddonfield and Badham less annoying for Killers by making certain houses have ivy walls that they can scale to get upstairs in a few seconds.

That's exactly what I said a few threads ago, the scaling part.
It would be a LOT of work but would be a new mechanic for both sides that is actually killer sided.
3 -
It would be neat but IMO near to impossible. Unfortunate

It won't change anything, you're still holding W for the same amount of time and your speed doesn't change from 4,0 m/s. They need to rework strong tiles which are linked, like the middle of suffocation pit for example
Edit: at least straight line with los can give bloodlust to catch up faster

I don't see a reason to "fix" holding W. It's a basic survivor mechanic like dropping pallets or vaulting windows. It's also only effective in certain situations, against certain killers, and on certain parts of maps.

if i remember correct one streamer was crying about "holding w" thats the reson of this topic

No, it is a thread about how it can help with this problem because it is definitely a problem. I wouldn't say it is too powerful, but it is definitely something that is unfun and shows poor design.

I think it should at least be addressed, the fact that a survivor can hold a button on their keyboard to waste loads of the killer's time chasing them is pretty nuts. It takes little to no skill and is unfun for the killer. I am not really crying saying things like "nerf this right now bhvr omg jioash ghsio fashp" but I really think it at least should be looked at.

It would if objects forced survivors to move around them.

But the killer has to go around those same objects. And since their hitbox is bigger it would take even longer to round corners

HEY! Not all survivors hold W, some hold forward on their an analog stick.

Apologies my dear analog user.

I have a friend playing DBD on my pc for the 3rd times. Hes unable to loops, mind game at all, and down pretty fast.
That one time hes just run straight in coal tower where a long path with trees on 2 side to the shake. He was able to make 15s chase. That was impressive to me because he made a chase that long.

I'm open to suggestions, anyway. I like your idea of smaller maps with more usable tiles, for example, but it'd be a lot of effort and right on the heels of another map rework.

Don't chase a survivor who is 40 M away from you when u r using a 4.4 killer especially when there is no gens near him

Climbing was tested in the alpha and was ultimately scrapped for one reason or another.
So I doubt it would come back let alone be implemented wall if breakable walls are any indication.
