More Trickster feedback
So, lot of posts about the new Killer. Haven't seen a positive one so far. I am adding another negative one.
I bought The Trickster using shards. Because of the recent troubles with the devs not listening to player feedback I didn't want to spend actual money on the DLC. I'm really happy I didn't buy the DLC because if I had I'd demand a refund. The Trickster is not fun to play. You now fun? The thing you play games to have? I've played him for five hours now and never once had fun in any of my games.
I only started playing at the tail end of 2020, late November, somewhere around the 27th I think. I was instantly hooked and it didn't take me long to buy up all of the then available DLC other than the cosmetic only charity bundle. I was recommending the game to all of my friends who didn't already play, even got one to buy it. I now regret getting him to buy the game. I now regret having bought the game myself after learning just how little the devs of the game actually listen to player feedback. The Trickster was the nail in the coffin so to say.
His Power is so underwhelming. Having to land sixteen hits to go from Healthy to Dying isn't that hard; when the Survivor is in the open with no cover. Being a 110% movement speed Killer means you can't get good line of sight at most loops, a simple L wall is enough to make the knives next to useless. I've had Survivors just not even care when I approach a gen they are working on once they know I'm playing Trickster and not some other Killer because they know I can't catch up before they reach any sort of cover. The ones with Sprint Burst can wait even longer before they run off. I've had some success at using his power at some smaller loops and being able to hit through gaps or at corners is really the only thing he has going for him.
So, my suggestions to make Trickster worth buying with real money, in order of importance:
1) Base moment speed of 115%. He's not Huntress, he's not Deathslinger. It takes time for his power to inflict a health state, not just a single hit. He should not be thought of as a "ranged Killer", because he's not, not really. This change alone would make him a serious threat as an M1 Killer and make it so Survivors have to respect when he approaches a gen and not just wait around humming a tune as they repair knowing the L wall behind them will save them. Drop his speed while throwing knives, drop it in Main Event, both are fine but base speed should not be 110%.
2) Remove the "Use it or lose it" aspect of Main Event. I thought it was bugged at first, only to find out that was intended. No other Killer has a Power they have to use or they lose their chance. Oni can hold his blood orb forever, Plague can choose when she drinks (final fountain being use aside), Shape and Ghostface decide when they Stalk and Ghostie doesn't just Shroud as soon as it's up. I can keep making compassions. It being "use it or lose it" is actual punishment for using the base power. More often than not I maxed out the power when I was already one hit from downing someone or just after downing them but now I've got no target and have to build it up again.
3) Laceration shouldn't just...go away. Again, no other Killer has their power just...go away, pause required. If you Stalk someone as Ghostface but don't max it out they stay that level of Stalked until you Expose them. When you infect someone with Plague they don't just magically get better, in fact they get sicker! After shocking someone as Doctor their Madness doesn't just drop on it's own. Make it normal Mending, make it some new thing. Make it a set time, make it dependent on how full the Meter is, either way, just, please make the Survivor have to do something before the Meter starts to go down.
4) Main Event doesn't auto throw knives and you don't get slowed down at all when you do start throwing. The special super powered version of the Power should not be weaker than the base version, and the base version is already pretty weak.
5) Speaking of, some sort of change to the knives to make them a viable Power and worth using instead of just M1ing people. Maybe make them deal more Laceration the further away you are to encourage getting skilled and to not use it up close. Maybe make the first knife thrown deal more Laceration to encourage not spamming it. Maybe drop the number needed from 8 down to 7. Maybe add bounce or shatter to base-kit instead of add-ons. Really just anything other than upping the number you can carry, because that isn't the core issue. Sixty is enough, making it one-hundred won't solve the problem if they are not worth it to use even one of them.
Those are the changes I feel are the bare minimum needed to make him somewhat viable, one more change that I think would be nice but I don't feel is really needed is: 6) The time it takes from triggering Main Event to the point you can start, or automatically start throwing if not changed, knives is shorter. It's alright to have a wind-up time, Plague does, but right now it takes so long it is better to just keep throwing normal knives instead of stopping, activating the power, waiting for it to be ready and then going. By the time you're ready the Survivor is already behind a wall so you waste more time getting line of sight back.
I just want to have fun playing K-Pop Killer. Right now he's not fun at all because I don't ever think I stand a chance of winning when I play as him like I do with other Killers.
I want to be able to recommend the game to my friends and suggest they buy it. I can't do that when it feels like the devs don't care about what their players say and ignore us.
Edit: fixed some typos and grammatical errors.

Amen, all of this was said in the PTS too....like what was the point of the PTS if they don't even listen and even mention the problems with this killer.
