Add killer switching
Why can't I pick a different killer if I see it's someone who I've played against before with a specific playstyle? Yet survivors are allowed to switch to a character with a key in the last few seconds.
Also why is the main menu worse than it was? It used to be so quick to switch between the roles now I gotta back up to the menu to pick killer or survivor what is the purpose of these changes?

All killers will have a different MMR, al though for how long its taking I don't see a reason why they didn't add the button to switch back and forth
8 -
The reason why is because of the MMR, so it's kinda understandable.
That said, to equalize things up, surivivors shouldn't be allowed to fast swap items last seconds like that tbh.

probably so you dont switch to spirit whenever you see 4 toolboxes. also survivor switching isnt a problem cuz all survivors are the same

Glad to know that a Dweet dressed in bright colors and holding nothing will give me the same gaming experience when he fast swaps to P3 Claudette holding a key.
A derp.

What is this mean? I will have long queue for my Freddy boi? Because i know he is popular killer
0 -
okay i hadnt thought of that
2 -
because every time you switch the system would have to throw out everything it was searching for and search again based on the new killer you have selected, it would probably strain the matchmaking hard
2 -
Because killer-specific MMR, and since MMR has been working in the background to collect data ever since the first time they tested it they can't really remove the killer lock and still get data that's useful whatsoever.
Killer-specific MMR was a highly requested feature and I don't know how anyone could ever think it wouldn't include killer lock, it would be a completely pointless system without it.
2 -
I guess I'd understand why there's killer lock if MMR is killer specific. But dang did I run into a lot of Nurses and Spirits when I started lmao. What was the point 😂

They can switch to a different item, like a key. That is an issue imo.

I like how OP doesn’t even want to adapt to the loadout of survivors (like with Medkits you play Plague, Flashlights you avoid Hag) but they want to specifically „counter“ a player whose playstyle they know (ie. probably griefing)
i am all for no last second changes for survivors, but survivors being able to change their character/cosmetics/items is pretty much the same as killers that can still change cosmetics and addons. Survivors are just skins after all..

The only real difference there is the key. They both have the same movement speed, neither has a unique power (despite the blendette memes), and of course the player behind them is the same person, and likely to play Survivor the same way. So basically they switched to having a key. Why do you need to completely change characters to counter that?
The reason it's locked, as many have noted is because the sbmmr is killer specific, so that you don't have to face top teams with a new killer until you are ready for them. If they allowed killer switching, they would have to drop that idea, which would suck.
If the thought of facing someone with a key and a lot of time in the game with whatever killer you were using is that horrible, or even if you just didn't mean to pick the killer you did, you can still dodge the lobby without dc penalty, and try again. Killers have almost instant-queues across most of the world almost all the time, so you won't have to wait for too long to find another match.

Only thing I miss about killer switching is seeing names in the lobby like "Mori Me *insert killer name here*" and not being able to switch to that one and meme. Was quite fun.

MMR isn't turned on.
And MMR will be Killer specific for each player. Just because they are using Nurse doesn't mean they are good with them meaning low MMR survivors can face low MMR nurses.
1 -
No.
It means that you still have an MMR for each killer based on how skilled you are with them. Then, once MMR is turned on, you will be matched with players with a similar Survivor skill level/MMR. Popularity of a specific killer won't have any bearing on this.
1 -
It means each of your killers will have a different MMR level
For example your Freddy might be good while your Oni is terrible so your MMR with oni will be lower
2 -
Killers can see the survivors before the game begins.
Are you sure you want to equalize things up?
2 -
You use to be able to along with seeing there ranks above there head. I agree bring it all back hexruin seeing ranks and changing killers.

I hate to call you a liar, but saying "Devs will do this" is a great way to accidentally tell a lie.
0 -
It is because each one of your killers will have a different MMR level. The removal of killer switching prevents you from finding a lobby which a killer that you are not good with, and then switching to your main in order to have an easier time.
I don't know why they removed this, but I want it back.
I love how you somehow described what my MMR probably looks like without even knowing it.

Guess I did a good job explaining then :)

Okey i got it, thank you. But there is problem. I never played as Oni. This mean my Ori MMR will be low but i am not bad killer. So i dont think i will be bad also with Oni. So MMR will give me bad survivors because my Oni MMR is low? Is that fair for survivors? Or maybe game will see i am experienced killer and give me better survivors?

I don't even have spirit and yes it is a problem when people literally quick switch in the last moment to a pre made character with a key that's a problem

One way to fix this is to make it so that you can switch killers while in the queue and in a lobby against other survivors. However, all the other killers will be greyed out except the killer you are currently playing and other killers that are on close MMR levels to that killer. That's my idea.
A good reference to this is SSBU, in Elite Smash all the other characters except the ones you have in Elite Smash are greyed out.

What everyone needs to understand is it’s not “fair” to the survivor. You as Killer are here for the enjoyment of the survivors. You come second to the devs. Survivors pay for t. Cosmetics. You are essentially killer bots with a little more intelligence. If Killers were allowed to switch when you realize you’re up against a 4 man SWF and you’re clown then that means the SWF will have less enjoyment and we can’t have that. Now dance Killer dance for the amusement of survivors!
