If it helps the dev team have said in their discord server that they're looking to expand to consoles as soon as they can ^^

Even if a better game came out I don't think DBD would drop in popularity. Licensed content, its streaming community, and sunken cost fallacy will keep this game alive despite the quality of the updates and the devs.

Thing is, games like Friday and Last Year had suffered due to outside circumstances, like the licensing conflict and the Discord store issue + failing to get a publisher.

Friday the 13th is very alive on PS4 (not sure about other platforms), it's been alive for years despite the lack of planned content. If Miller had maybe kept his mouth shut, maybe Friday would still be focused on. (No offense to him, I feel that the artist should keep the rights to their work unless they're officially signed away, but him deciding to step out now is what ended this game, and him winning is what basically ruined the series forever, since now Miller holds one big right while Seth holds the rest)

And the Discord store deciding to pull the plug is one thing that ruined things for the Last Year devs, plus the balance problems on the Steam release, and Covid ending their attempts for good by sabotaging the deal just before they could sign the contract.

It's not like all of the games died solely because "they were bad".

If it would how about you go make it instead of complaining about Bhvr's product.

Nope, killer believing you should never escape a chase is the toxic thinking, right along with the belief that they are owed a 4k every game or it is unfair.

Which ones? Been ages since I've seen the standard meta killers. No Nurse, Spirit or Freddy it's weird.

This patch isn't killing DBD. Let's not blow this out of proportion. They made a bad DLC, that's it. They also made 3 highly desired balancing changes this patch. No one's leaving the game unless they were already sick of it when, as a whole, this patch improved the game.

I wish that "licensing conflict" myth would die. F13th was a flop, that's all.

I want this game to continue to succeed as much as anyone, but recent chapters feel dialed in and #########. I'm a grown ass man and this is basically the only game I play, so it's sad for me to say my will to play it is diminishing quickly.

Identity V? It’s really balanced, but the game graphic is a mobile one so that’s why I play dbd. I played Identity V for like 1k hrs than moved to dbd on pc. Idv works on both pc and mobile. Also the new game home sweet home survive looks way better than dbd. I really plan to leave dbd behind and start a new game or get a life

Dbd has the advantage of a 5 year loyal player base and balance (kind of lol?).

So many games gave failed to step up to dbd which makes me think...

Eventually they all meet the same path. They die out.

Dead by daylight is like the WWE of Asymmetrical Horror Games, It simply dosent have competition at the moment and is the biggest asymmetrical horror game because of it. The reason I believe they're unrivaled is the star power, because in what other game can you play as Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Laurie Strode and even DemoDoggo in the same game? Just to name afew, many more included. It's fair to say some of us bought the game for these chapters.

The other reason could simply be because Asymmetrical Horror just isn't a smashhit;) In an era where FPS tend to dominate the Market

I'm sure you understand my points

A game COULD compete, as many cuties have stated Home Sweet Home SURVIVE is fresh in the market(Not on console though:() and has just started its life span, its going to need to do something VERY unique to even try and compete with DBD though.

Eh, if it was then I wouldn't be able to find a full lobby of 8 players, less then a minute after I que every single time. And it's still like this 3 years after the lawsuit had started (at least on Xbox anyway).

I guarentee you if it wasn't for the lawsuit, the game would have had even more players and still be receiving content to this day. The devs were nowhere near finished and were just about to release Uber Jason and the spaceship map before everything went to hell. Clearly they were still making a substantial amount of money on the game. It doesn't matter that it never had the same player numbers as DBD, that didn't mean that it was dead and/or dying.

On the other hand, the data doesn't lie: the vast majority of the playerbase left the game long before the lawsuit. It might not be "literally zero players" dead, but it was definitely a flop.

It lost 70% of its playerbase in two months, come on. It's OK to admit it was a flop, even if you like the game. I liked Deathgarden, but I can still admit it was a failure.

I would say a good reason why a lot of those players left is because of the bugs. The game was littered with them. It was so much worse in the bug compartment compared to DBD.

I would probably see at least 1 bug every match, compared to DBD where I could go several without seeing a single one.

I may be biased yes, but I just can't understand why more people played DBD. The gameplay, especially for counselor was so much more engaging then DBD's survivor side.

I love DBD, but sitting on a generator for 80 seconds 5 times just gets boring. I wish there was some other objective. Like searching the map for parts or something.

I absolutely loved Friday's aspect of looking for gas, a battery, and car keys to start the car and escape. Working as a team truly mattered and counselor just felt so engaging and alive (until you were killed lol). Plus, the kills were so much cooler to watch then the boring sacrifice animation I've seen a thousand times with little to no actual gore involved. And there was always the chance to come back as Tommy, so you really had the urge to stay and spectate on the chance you would come back, compared to DBD where you're done no matter what.

The community as well, while no angels, were far less toxic then this community. I've learned to ignore most of it at this point though.

Sorry, was a bit of a rant. 🥴

Pretty much this. F13 made me like the assymetric game genre, but it was buggier than an old mattress behind the no-tell motel. Everything from cars that would drive right through Jason without collision, doors that you could break down and not be able o walk through, and my personal favorite, kill animations that take place after the counselor already escaped.
