Pinnacle of Map RNG - did anyone else get this?
This video made me post it:
For those who dont bother to watch it, the Map consisted of huge Deadzones and mostly T/Ls, 7 Pallets in total on Suffocation Pit, 4 of them really unsafe.
I had a similar experience twice already since the Update. One itme there were huge Deadzones, not even Rocks spawned there (so no Rock-Tiles with Pallets even). And in another game, the whole middle section was only T/L-Walls, no Pallet at all. Which would not be that bad, but since Bloodlust exists, at some point, a T/L-Wall does not work anymore.
So anyone else experiencing this? As I said, had this two times since Patch, and seeing that ScottJund had the same experience makes me wonder if I did not get really unlucky two times in a row on that map.

Yeah he says hes never seen it before, neither have I. I've seen the opposite side of RNG many times though. ######### Badham.

Yep its been my experience with a lot of the McMillan maps for a while(Long before this update) its why there are times where the game is just too rigged against the survivors for them to realistically win and vice versa for killers when the opposite happens.
Its also why KR statistics need to be taken with a massive pile of salt because of this non-sense.

In general, I only saw this happen on Storehouse that Double Pallets spawned, because most Maze Tiles were T/Ls, which forced the Map Generator to bring Double Pallets to reach the minimum amount of Pallets.
But so far, since the Update dropped, all MacMillan-Maps have been fine for me, except for the two times I was on Suffocation Pit. (But the number of games in total is pretty small, since the Update dropped a little bit over 2 days ago, but having this strange RNG on Suffocation Pit two times in a row and seeing Scotts video made me wonder)

Yes, and I've experienced the precise opposite. DbD seems to think that "RNG" means "Lacks Any Consistency."
Although maybe calling this the reason tournaments are stupid is a bit of a stretch...

I’ll see your empty map and raise you 5 pallets perfectly in a row

Yeah these rare iterations of some maps are really dumb and shoul be fixed. For some reason when some maps spawn 2 T/L walls close to each other, sometimes it causes almost no pallets to spawn at all (or that's at least the most common scenarion when I see little to no pallets spawn).
I'd like to know what the hook spawn was. I've had several really dumb games latetly where for example on Thompson house, the overall hook spawns (without any offerings) was 6 hooks on the whole map and they were extremely far away from each other with basement in shack. Single bodyblock was always enough to make it impossible to hook any survivor if they got downed even slightly further away from a hook.
I wonder if that has to do anything with bad spawns of pallets or if it's just bad RNG every time.

This is Storehouse, the Map is doing that since the Rework. Whenever more T/L-Walls spawn, there are less Jungle Gyms, so they place Double Pallets (or sometimes 4 Pallets in that area of the video).
I dont know what is doing that, I guess because they removed the two guaranteed spawns inside the Storehouse. Maybe they can find a way to spawn less T/L-Walls and more Jungle Gyms/Longwalls, to avoid having 2 or more Pallets in that specific spot (or, they remove the Breakable Wall and add those two Pallets back).
On Suffocation Pit as well?
And regarding tournaments, it is one reason why tournaments are stupid. You cannot really compare games if one Killer gets Suffocation Pit like seen in the video and the other player has a lot of Jungle Gyms in the center area.
Map Seeds would at least remove that reason against tournaments.

This is basically all reworked maps, tbh. RNG in every direction. Shelter Woods didn't get changed, and was already like this, same for Gas Heaven.

It's one aspect, but not as big a one as people think. I'd still bet on the survivors on a completely blank and featureless plain.

I don’t even see why it matters in a tournament considering it’s all nurses anyways. Which is another reason why DBD tournaments are lame, there’s only 2 killers played and both of them have super boring gameplay. So you have boring killer gameplay and then the survivor gameplay is holding M1 so....
I don’t think I’ve ever watched a DBD tournament for more than like 2-3 minutes.

Rng really needs to be restricted imo. How is an Tournament or competitive scene even going to work when 1 team could get double the pallets the other one does?

This could easily be fixed by adding the "new" tiles to the old maps, the horrible TL-wall chains would be extremely unlikely with just 2-3 more tiles

I have never seen it so far on the reworked Maps. I have seen Deadzones on Autohaven, but not that much during the last weeks. Just Storehouse so far which got Double Pallets, if it spawned too many T/L-Walls.
Yeah, have to agree on that one. In a tournament environment, other Killers as Nurse or Spirit are not playable. In the regular queue, you can play every Killer, but not in tournaments.
I also dont think that DBD is a game for tournaments at all. I also never enjoyed watching them.
Yes!
I dont know why they put new Tiles on Yamaoka and Ormond, but not on any other Maps. In general, I would be happy to have some new Tiles on older Maps and not only Jungle Gyms, Longwalls or T/L-Walls.
But then again, not everyone is playing for so long, so too many different tiles might be confusing for newer Survivors or Killers.
