Pallet Stuns Not Working When Dropped on Killer

I get into a match and normally i would get a pallet stun every game at least once, recently ive gotten 1 pallet stun every 50-60 games. I gain distance from the killer and as the killer swings he hits me after ive already dropped the pallet.
- Run Killer Around Pallet
- Killer swings
- Drop pallet immediately and then get hit
This issue occurs almost every game when i try to use the new perk smash hit which depend on stuns to get distance.
