Colorblind scratch marks don't work

I'm on PS4 and I turned on the colorblind setting, than suddenly scratch marks only show up about half the time. I switched back to normal mode and they spawned, but for obvious reasons that's not as helpful as it should be. What's the point of colorblind assist if it just removes the red things you had to look closely to find before?
