Calm Spirit - I Still Scream

I’ve noticed that Calm Spirit is not working how it states. The perk allows one to overcome the urge to scream when running the perk. Recently when running the perk, every time a killer is running something that causes people to scream, I do not scream, but my character does the screaming notification and the killer is notified. Is this a bug or is it intended?
If a bug can we please have this fixed?
