Best way to shake the ring rust?

Hi all, new to the forums - just wondering how you guys deal with having a couple weeks off the game? I'm a rank 5/6 killer but I generally only play at the weekend sometimes every other weekend and I literally get hammered for a good few games before I find my feet again and start making better/quicker decisions etc - wondered if others deal with this and if they have a good plan in their head to mitigate it. I'm not fussed about dropping rank or whatever so it doesn't phase me but it would be nice to not embarrass myself for an hour each time I pick the game back up! Console btw. Thanks!

This raises a good point, I mostly go into my matches and as much thought into a strategy I have is I take a quick look round and see if I can spot an obvious 3 gen - other than that the survivors seem to dictate my matches I'm usually just trying to keep up with them. I've got more into watching gameplay lately either via twitch or YT tuts, most talk about effective uses of perks and killers etc but I've not seen many that cover overall strategy going into the match - thanks I'll give that some thought.

In terms of focus etc you're spot on dbd always feel intense even when you're just chilling out, and I definitely drop the ball a lot just by making mechanical mistakes and allowing chases to last far longer than they should!

Also I don't know if this replied to you or I'm just going to be talking to myself here with your quote haha.
