Chapter Concept: Memento of the Apostle
New Killer: The Zealot
Killer Data
Overview: The Zealot is a precise Killer, who uses his powers to hit Survivors from long distances while being able to easily get in the position to do so. His personal perks allow him to make his Obsession, and anyone who may try to help them, suffer.
Appearance: A cloaked person who uses a ritual knife as a weapon.
Speed: 110% (4.4 m/s)
Terror Radius: 24 meters
Height: Tall
Power: Shadow Spear
Holding m2 will charge Shadow Spear, taking 1.5 seconds to reach its minimum charge. The Zealot moves at 3.0 m/s while charging Shadow Spear for the first 3 seconds, before gradually going up to 3.8 m/s over the next 3 seconds.
Clicking m1 will fire Shadow Spear. Doing so creates a map-wide noise, indicating to all Survivors that it has been fired. Shadow Spear also emits a sound within an 8 meter radius of itself. Shadow Spear travels at 20 m/s at first, slowing down by 4 m/s every 0.2 seconds until it reaches 4 m/s. Upon hitting a Survivor with Shadow Spear, they lose one health state. Shadow Spear cannot go through walls or over windows, but it can go up/down stairs.
Shadow Spear can pass through pallets, breakable walls and generators. When it does so, the object it passed through is broken. Generators immediately lose 5% of their progress, and begin regressing if they're not currently being repaired.
Shadow Spear stops when it hits a wall, and has a cooldown of 15 seconds. For 3 seconds after Shadow Spear is fired, the Zealot moves at 95% speed.
Secondary Power: Cloak of Darkness
Hitting a Survivor with a basic or special attack will charge Cloak of Darkness by 25%.
Holding CTRL will drain 25% of Cloak of Darkness' charge per second. The Zealot cannot move during this time. For each second CTRL is held, Cloak of Darkness activates for 10 seconds.
While Cloak of Darkness is active, the Zealot moves at 4.2 m/s, but is Undetectable. Shadow Spear moves at 24 m/s at first and takes only 5 seconds to recharge while Cloak of Darkness is active. Generators hit by Shadow Spear will immediately lose 15% of their progress instead of 5%, as well.
Add-ons
- Increases the speed of Shadow Spear by 0.4/0.8/1.2 m/s.
- Decreases the minimum charge time of Shadow Spear by 0.1/0.2/0.3 seconds.
- Increases movement speed while charging Shadow Spear by 0.4 m/s.
- Decreases the cooldown of Shadow Spear by 1/2/3 seconds.
- Decreases the regression rate of Shadow Spear's speed by 0.8/1/1.2 meters every 0.2 seconds.
- Increases the length of Cloak of Darkness per 25% drained by 1/2/4 seconds.
Iridescent Add-ons
- Iridescent Book - You become Obsessed with 1 Survivor. While Cloak of Darkness is active, you can see the aura of the Obsession when they are 24 or more meters away, also any Survivor within 4 meters of the obsession have their aura revealed as well. There can only be one Obsession at a time.
- Blood Vial - You become Obsessed with 1 Survivor. When you hit the obsession with Shadow Spear, all Survivors within a 16 meter radius of the Obsession will scream, including the Obsession, revealing their location for 5 seconds. For 20 seconds afterwards, all Survivors who screamed are Exposed. Increases Shadow Spear's recharge time by 4 seconds. There can only be one Obsession at a time.
Perks
Apple of Your Eye
One person has the favor of your lord, and you will bring them to it at any cost.
You become Obsessed with 1 Survivor. Each time the Obsession is hooked, this perk gains 1 Token. For each Token this perk has, all Survivors have a 4/6/8% decrease in all action speeds as long as the Obsession is alive. If this perk has 3 Tokens, you consume all Tokens when you lunge, and if that lunge hits a Survivor, they become the Obsession. There can only be one Obsession at a time.
Shrine of the Sacrifice
Your obsession knows no bounds.
You become Obsessed with 1 Survivor. If an item previously held by the Obsession is picked up by a Survivor other than the Obsession they will scream, revealing their location for 4/5/6 seconds. They also become Exposed for 60 seconds. There can only be one Obsession at a time.
Eyes of the Void
You see your eyes as the lenses the Fog looks through to see your world, and you pride yourself in how much you let it see its sacrifice.
You become Obsessed with 1 Survivor. This perk gains 1 Token for every 45/40/35 seconds you are in a chase with a Survivor, except the Obsession (max 5). When a chase is started with the Obsession and it lasts for 5 or more seconds, you consume all Tokens, also the Obsession is inflicted with the following effects based on how many Tokens were consumed.
2 Tokens - The Obsession is Hindered by 10% for the remaining duration of the chase.
3 Tokens - The Obsession has all action speeds reduced by 15% for the remaining duration of the chase.
4 Tokens - The Obsession has their aura revealed for 10 seconds.
5 Tokens - The Obsession is Exposed for 60 seconds.
There can only be one Obsession at a time.
Lore
Dillon Hudson was an interesting kid. He always got incredibly focused on one thing for a very long time, before dropping it and finding something else.
This usually repeated once every few weeks or months, not overly weird for younger kids, but as he got older into his teenage years, he started obsessing about 1 thing. Something described as the books he had found only described as the Fog, this being that fed off of hope and fear. Something about this thing fascinated Dillon to an unimaginable extent.
The fascination was even odder when he first went to high school, and saw this one girl in one of his classes. It was rare for him to obsess over something for more than 3 or so months, but even rarer for him to ever care about more than one thing at a time. The instant he got home he started writing something about how 'it wanted that one, and I'll be the one to bring her to it' and how much it would be proud of him for doing so.
When his parents discovered this, they tried to talk to him but he didn't say anything. This was their son's writing though, they knew that, and so they had him visit a psychiatrist once every week. He seemed completely normal in them, but he did talk a lot about that girl in his class. It came off as just one of those high school crushes though, rather than the obsession it was expected to be from what he had written.
He just kept writing those things, though. As if he were a broken record, he wrote the same things every night almost word for word, but slowly got more and more detailed as time went on.
This got concerning for his family though, when he started disappearing every night. The first night, his parents called the police. They didn't find anything the first night of looking for him, so his parents got worried. That was, until he showed up in his bed, sound asleep the next morning.
When he woke up, they questioned him about where he was, but he just said he was asleep the whole night after finishing his homework. He had lied, of course, as it turns out he was stalking the girl he had been obsessing over.
Things just got worse and worse over time for him, as he continued disappearing for longer and longer amounts of time. He started even collecting everything down from broken pencil lead left behind by the girl. He didn't do anything with them, and seemed to have no real interest in her in any way like you might think, he just collected them and kept watching her for seemingly no reason.
That was, until one day when her parents were away, he broke into her house. Dillon attacked her with a knife, but managed to only stab her once before an odd fog settled over the area, and they both disappeared.
New Survivor: Daria Pierce
Survivor Data
Gender: Female
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Blonde
Overview: Daria Pierce is an illusive Survivor, whos perks allows her to stay hidden and alert while assisting her fellow Survivors.
Perks
Hidden Presence
You've been fawned over by few, and you liked it that way, but someone had to ruin it.
Decreases your chances of becoming the Obsession. If the Killer hits a Survivor with a basic attack while you're within 16 meters of the Killer, but not in a chase, you can see the aura of the Killer and the Survivor that was hit for 5 seconds, also you can see the auras of all objects within 8 meters of the Killer for the same duration. Hidden Presence has a cooldown of 40/30/20 seconds.
Deceptive Awareness
It all happened so fast, and you just can't forget. Something like that can never happen again, ever.
While performing an action, you can click the Active Ability button to switch to the other side of what you were performing an action on, if possible (doesn't work on totems or while sabotaging). During this time you cannot be grabbed or injured in any way, and the animation lasts .2 seconds.
Deceptive Awareness causes the Exhausted status effect for 60/50/40 seconds. Deceptive Awareness cannot be used while Exhausted. Exhaustion does not recover while running.
Together as One
It's been hard opening up after all that's happened, but it's so nice to finally be able to again.
Increases your chances of becoming the Obsession. While in a chase, if another Survivor is also in a chase and gets put into the injured state, or if you get put into the injured state, all positive effects on the Survivor that wasn't hit transfer to the one that was, and gain an additional 5 seconds to their duration. Together as One has a cooldown of 60/50/40 seconds.
Lore
Daria lived a quiet life, in a quiet town. She kept a low profile at school, though she had her fair share of friends.
All in all, her life wasn't really an interesting one, until the one time she looked out her window and saw someone staring back at her. She couldn't recognize who it was, but she just panicked and locked the doors and windows into the house, since she was alone that night.
Nothing happened, though, and she was grateful for at least that. But it was the next day she noticed this one kid in class who always looked at her a little too long.
That kid, Dillon, wasn't generally one to talk to people or show interest in them, and she knew that from many times she tried to talk to him when he was new in middle school. Why did he seem so interested now? She kept a bit of an eye on him for the rest of the class, partially out of curiosity and partially out of paranoia, and he either looked down at his desk, up at the ceiling, or at her.
She also eventually noticed he was reading some... odd books, to say the least, throughout class. Around this time he had started staring at her for upwards of 10 seconds at a time.
This all came to a head one night, when her parents were out doing whatever the hell as if they didn't have a daughter, and there was a crash downstairs. When Daria went downstairs to check what the sound was, she was attacked by Dillon, who had gotten his hands on a weird looking knife. The rest is a blur, and all that follows is fog.

Edited Apple of the Fog's Eye to remove its first ability, which was to make you faster while chasing only the Obsession, cuz it didn't really fit with an already pretty unique perk from most perks that are in the game currently though it has some shades of the original Dying Light. I also decreased the slowdown the perk causes from 10% at the highest level to 8%, per Token.
