Struggling To Learn Deathslinger... Any Advice?
I have been playing DBD for a few years now, and my Killer Rank has been floating around Rank 6 recently. I have been slowly making my way through each Killer, with the intent to get them all to Prestige 3 Level 50. This had been going smoothly... until I came to Deathslinger. I am struggling to do any better than a 1-2 kill game. Does anyone have some general advice, tips, builds, or tricks to help me improve my Slinger game?

You didn't really pointed out what your problem is with deathslinger or what perks do you use.
I personal came to the conclusion that "quick scoping" is way more efficent than actually trying to aim with sight since the survivor have less time to react. That takes some training tho.

remember he is not hitscan and you have to be very accurate. His hitbox is small so it isnt even close to as forgiving to huntress and he isnt actually hitscan its the same speed as a fully charge huntress hatchet. Also you dont always have to use your power for hits, aim it at windows or pallets so survivors run away from there or if they kepe running just take the easy shot.

Not a Deathslinger main or anything, but I've played a bit of him here and there.
Quick scoping is a major thing to learn. Even just the act of aiming, then pulling up your gun is so much better then trying to aim after raising your gun.
While reeling your chain breaks faster but a survivor is pulled towards you. If you want to go towards a survivor, say if you're on one side of a loop and you want to get around the loop to M1 them, don't reel.
Your harpoon moved at the same speed as a fully charged hatchet(with a smaller hitbox) so if you've played huntress you should be able to use that muscle memory for judging long distances. Keep in mind you have an 18m range though.
Don't be afraid to break the chain to injure people. The stun is decently long but damaging is important. You don't want to struggle with the first health state, the second one is harder to get.
I've found sloppy, monitor and nurses to be a very strong combination of perks. Keep them vulnerable and easy to sneak up on.

Probably the best build that i am using is
BBQ+HEX:Ruin/pop+ corrupt intervention + M&A
with M&A you can sneak up to the survivors before they can even hear your terror radius
Which addons do i recommend probably Warden’s keys + modified belt or modified belt/wardens keys + rusted spike
with the first combo you get +0,75 seconds faster reload speed with the second one you get 0,25/0,50 seconds + when you you injure a speared survivor they will get mangled effect that slows down healing for 20% its basically a sloppy butcher but with addon
You can sometimes force the survivor to do jukes when you quickly ADS if you see that he is not falling for that you can just quick scope and injure him
When you see multiple survivors try injuring every one of them just like legion to make them waste time on healing
Oh and also survivors have hitbox above their heads so you can easily shoot them on those pickups on haddonfield and on some of the autohaven maps unless they crouch

If you know you would get a normal hit, dont shoot. Reloading costs you distance and when you hit with a basic attack you can follow-up with a shot sometimes.

I can't give accurate advice since you're not being clear on what you're struggling with, but I'll give some common advice.
- You can pretend to quick scope to zone survivors or bait DH.
- You can get hits through windows, don't be afraid to fire through them to get cheeky hits.
- Use Monitor and Abuse, it makes your terror radius small enough to get sneaky shots.

The barbs on the spear double as crosshairs, whatever horizontal surface the level with you will shoot over.
Forget the advice about M&A, that's what people who don't know how to play him use. His music starts off very low and is often drowned out by other sounds, giving you the same advantage a lot of people think only M&A can give. Once you got a feeling for it M&A can go straight into the trashbin, as can STBFL. There's better obsessionperks to use with him, like dark devotion.
Not running stbfl is at bottom line even advantageous, as it lures survivors into a false safety making them (going by experience) easier to hit.

Shoot even if the survivor is behind an object, currently deathslinger can shoot through tires, walls, cars, just about any obstacle.

To clarify for those asking, I am having trouble with early game / getting the first hook, as well as lining up shots. I haven't started to establish a build for him yet, but once I have Slinger leveled up enough I plan to use something like Starstruck, Dark Devotion, Monitor, and Corrupt. I have also heard good things about using Nurse's on Slinger, but I don't quite have it teachable yet. Thank you all for the advice :)

DS is my secondary. Some big tips:
Learn when to shoot and when not to shoot. Pretend like you are going to shoot and then keep walking. This will often make the survivor swerve to try and make you miss, which will cause them to lose distance/miss a structure and set up an easy m1 or shot. You also don’t want to shoot when many things are in the way/ when the terrain changes while the survivor is injured since you won’t get a down.
Although quick scoping is good, don’t be afraid to hold the gun and line up a shot either. Ideally you will switch between aiming and quickscoping to keep survivors on their toes.
Play lame. This won’t be a popular piece of advice, but DS is a walking killer. You should choose an area to defend and try to hook survivors there. DS lame game is among the best.
My build: ruin/undying/STBFL/whispers
whispers is a big help in the early and late game.

aim better
like unironically. it will take a bit of practice but really, if you can land your shots you're set. he has low map pressure though so even if you insta end your chases, you might still lose if the team is organized
