Why do we have a language filter that blocks out half normal conversations
and I still have to have teammates named Jizz filled Taco, Cum Guzzler and Cockloaf.

seeing those names in a lobby would make me laugh, seeing those names as insults directed at me would make me frown

I had chats where I genuinely had no idea what the person was trying to say because all I saw was "#### ## ##########"

No clue - I have chat closed. Never seen the purpose of it since most people just use it to showcase their bigotry and immaturity.

that's what happens when you add a chat filter in as an afterthought. you don't care what it filters and how badly just that it's there so you can say you have one.

Honestly I'd be for no filter at all.
They're just words. Words can't hurt you.
If you're REALLY somehow hurt by it then turn it off completely.

I had somebody try to tell me they were trying to get one of the Steam achievements, but they couldn't tell me which one since it was blocked by the language filter.
