New Killer: The Surgeon

Gavin Trotter was born to Drs Marie and Lucien Trotter in the summer of 1994. Being world-class surgeons in their respective fields of neurology and orthopedics, they had little time for their selfishly conceived baby. They were late adopters of the 'letting him cry it out' school of thought, instructing his nanny specifically to ignore his agonizing wails, as such the first lesson Gavin learned from his parents was that the universe was cold and uncaring. Since they could afford a full-time nanny, they saw Gavin only when they wanted to use him as a prop, to entertain guests.

As he suffered their cruel and bizarrely random affection he grew resentful. He began vivisecting small animals when he was 8, and his fascination for the viscera as it pulsed with each heartbeat fascinated him. He would howl in frustration when his target would eventually expire, and immediately crave his next peak at life's inner workings.

He stole texts and tools from his parents before he could legally drive, and concealed his activities with a cloak of "being a very private child." His parents often boasted the fact proudly to their colleagues, as if it confirmed their superiority as parents as well as surgeons.

Mice, squirrels, birds, snakes - Gavin became a master of capturing them alive and undamaged. He designed traps and snares, modified and improved versions he'd studied in books from the library.

His knowledge of chemistry came with adolescence, and puberty unleashed a torrent of hormones, the combination rapidly accelerating his interest and practice.

He caught his first cat when he was 13, and entertained himself for hours before finally releasing the poor creature. After that, he caught a small dog, which had a similar fate. His first child was a boy his age he'd befriended in public park. Stunning the boy with some chloroform and carrying him away hadn't been easy, but he was almost 17, and he'd grown tall and thin. He took the boy back to his laboratory, a shed on their property. After five days the teen expired, but not before a slow and agonizing deconstruction where Gavin literally took him a part.

As the boy ultimately passed, a dark wind swirled around his body. Transparent claws pierced it, dragging the boy's tortured soul from its shell. The malignant force coursed through Gavin, squaring the evil it found within. A new dark knowledge tore through his mind, planting seeds of despair and desire. Preternatural hunger for more replaced any previous notions of a normal life and Gavin immediately plotted his return to the park, one town over.

Before that could happen the police found Gavin. He'd been identified by an eyewitness. He'd been sloppy. The search warrant they executed confirmed their suspicions and the case became a gruesome headline.

Naturally his parents fought the charges, but the evidence was too much. Ultimately accepting the truth, they cooperated with the authorities and through a mix-up Gavin was housed at Lery's Memorial Institute, instead of a normal institution for the demented. The truth is that the 'mix-up' was actually bit of clerical vigilante justice by a relative of his victim. It unfortunately backfired, as we will see. When Herman Carter first met Gavin, they recognized one another as fellow predators immediately. The entity knows its own. After seeing his record, The Doctor eventually recruited The Surgeon, helping him in his quest for information via torture. When they ran out of prisoners, they they turned on the guards and their colleagues, no one escaped, except the two of them.

Perks: Slice & Dice - After starring at a hooked survivor for a period of time, slice and dice activates. He can use it to immediately progress the hooked survivor to the struggle state, or to instantly down another survivor. It has a limited duration.

Over the river and through the woods - Gavin is adept at moving through trees and forests. He gets a move speed buff in wooded areas. His normal move speed is reduced in non-wooded areas.

Hidden Stash - Two additional chests spawn that conceal Gavin's tools and supplies. They're also rigged to injure survivors should they try to open them. Chests will explode upon being opened by survivors, causing them to suffer the loss of a health state.

Native Ability: Gotta catch em all - Gavin can rig three different types of traps depending on how long he wants to invest in the process. When Gavin clicks M2 he can drop a jump bob, when survivors approach, the jump bob jumps into the air and emits a loud noise/notification. If Gavin holds M2 for some time, he can rig a snare. The snare will trip a survivor and cause them to stumble and suffer a hindered penalty for some time. It also emits a notification. If Gavin chills for a hot minute and sets up an elaborate trap, the survivor who triggers it suffers a health state, hindered status, and there's a notification. The stumble is also significant or perhaps requires some interaction to escape.

Each trap uses a certain amount of Gavin's supplies. There's a meter somewhere that shows your supply level. You can refill your supplies at trapped chests, but then they aren't trapped anymore and remain open.

ive Always loved the huntress just because of the fact that she has to use lockers for her power to work and would love to see that again, his power also seems really fun to use on both sides aswell as his perks although with his slice and dice perk would he have to be close to the hook or from any distance because I don’t think we would want a perk that encourages camping for it to be used

It'd have to be tested, but the idea is that it is a camper perk so he can stare at you, maybe he actually has to hit the hooked survivor a few times too. It's a trade off, investing time starring at the hooked guy so others can get gennies.

None of your perks depict what the different ranks would do. Regardless of rank, Slice and Dice is completely overpowered. It is pretty close to having a free mori. It is also unfair and unfun for survivors. Over the river and through the woods has too long of a name and is both overpowered and underpowered. There are maps that are entirely woods and maps that have no woods at all. If I burned an offering to go to The Huntresses map for instance, I would have a permanent move bonus which is just broken good, but if I wound up on The Game then I'm permanently snared. Hidden Stash is tied too closely to the killer. Remember, it is a teachable perk that other killers would learn. I'd be fine with bonus booby trapped chests spawning on the map though.
