OVERVIEW:
Welcome to Dead By Daylight: Chapter 0. Past mistakes never fade, and in the Entity's realm, they shine.
Enter The Screaming Mines. Once a place full of death, always a place full of death.
The new Killer is, The Miner. Even though he was soon to be buried deep underground, Peter Gates wouldn't forget about the ones who he had abandoned. The Miner's primary power is, Howard's Fate. You can't seem to get rid of your past, so embrace it. Howard's Fate allows you to cover your terror radius in smoke, obstructing survivors view and hindering them. The Miner's secondary power, Buried Deep, allows him to break open sinkholes and traverse the map without being seen.
The Miner comes with 3 new perks. Use their mistakes to your advantage as others did to you with Past Mistakes. When a survivor has been working on a gen for a certain amount of time, they become linked with that gen, and if that gen gets kicked, they suffer from the exposed status effect for a duration. Slow down the game with Caved In. Hooking a survivor causes all pallets, windows gens and breakable door areas to be blocked for a short duration. Protect your Hexes with Hex: Smog. While this totem is lit, use a token to protect a hex from being revealed to the survivors.
New survivor: Archie Macmillan. An old man, cruel and heartless, now surviving in the Entity's realm as a punishment. Archie uses his grit to make it out of situations that he normally would not be able to.
Archie Macmillan comes with 3 new perks. Fight for your life with Toughened. When picked up, your struggle efforts are increased, and when you get hooked, the struggle timer is paused for a short duration. Use all your might to survive with Survivor. After being in a chase for some time, lets you take a hit without losing a health state while also giving you the exhaustion status effect. Become feared with Unforgiving. After being hooked, the next stun you do stuns the killer longer than usual.
Get over your past mistakes, or embrace them in the Macmillan Ruins Chapter in Dead By Daylight. Available June 89, 3056, everywhere.
BACKSTORIES:
THE MINER
Peter Gates was born rich. He had it all, but he didn't feel like it was right. He thought that having everything was too "easy". He wanted to work for his earnings. He went to work in the Macmillan mines, abandoning his family, and therefore making him poor. It was harsh, but he didn't care. It was his way of living and he accepted these harsh conditions. One day while working in the mines, his canary, Howard, dropped dead in front of him. Smoke was coming through one of mine entrances. He tried to get through the rubble blocking the exit but it was no use, he was caved in. As a thick smog covered him, he began to remember all his past mistakes, leaving his family, his little brother, taking this stupid job. He wanted to start over from the beginning, he just wanted to see his brother again. And Archie. He hated Archie Macmillan, the person who had not only abused him and the miners, but his own son too. He wanted to kill Archie, for the miners and Evan. He wasn't sure if he was gonna get out of this place alive, but if he did, Archie wouldn't.
ARCHIE MACMILLAN
Archie Macmillan was a brutal man. He thought that being cruel was the way to success in life, in a way, he was right. He had taught his son to feel no empathy towards those lower than him. He was the one who told his son to blow up the mines. He caused those deaths, and created a monster. However, that did not save him from his demise.
Killer Primary Power: Howard's Fate
Pressing the primary action button activate Howard's Fate for 10 seconds. All survivors within your terror radius will have their screens covered with smoke and will begin coughing. They gain the hindered status effect during this time. Survivors cannot work on gens or get in lockers while covered by smoke. If a survivor stuns you while they're stunned, they remove the smoke and get the exhausted status effect for 20 seconds.
Howard's Fate has a cooldown of 20 seconds.
Killer Secondary Power: Buried Deep
5 plugged sinkholes would spawn in random places of the map. Pressing the active ability button at a plugged sinkhole would break the plug and let you get in it. While in the sinkhole, you gain the undetectable status effect. Breaking another plug will allow you to travel between the sinkholes freely. You see the aura of all plugged or open sinkholes. Getting out of a sinkhole will cause survivors within 10 meters of it to have their auras shown to you for 3 seconds
Travelling between sinkholes takes 3 seconds
Killer Perks:
Past Mistakes
You've made mistakes, but so have others.
- When a survivor has been working on a gen for more than 20/15/10 seconds, they are linked to that gen.
- If you kick a gen that has a survivor linked to it, that survivor screams, revealing their location to you for 3/4/5 seconds
- The linked survivor becomes exposed for 20/25/30 seconds after screaming.
"You were my only friend, my brother, and now you're working for them?" -Jeremy Gates
Caved In
You won't let them escape.
- Hooking a survivor causes all pallets, windows, breakable door areas, and gens to be blocked for 10/20/30 seconds
- All survivors working on a gen get kicked off of it.
"He has a strange connection." -Lost Tape
Hex: Smog
A Hex affecting all other Hexes
- You start the trial with 4 tokens
- Each time a hex is supposed to be revealed, use a token to prevent it from revealing.
- If a hex is cleansed, the survivor who cleansed it will have their vision obstructed for 10/15/20 seconds
- This perk only works if its hex totem is lit
"What the hell?" -Peter Gates
Survivor Perks:
Toughened
You're not giving up yet.
- You get picked up 2/3/4% slower
- You struggle 5/6/7% more efficiently
- Upon going into the struggle phase, the timer is paused for 5/10/15 seconds
"Toughen up, boy!" -Archie Macmillan
Survivor
You're a survivor, and you plan on keeping it that way.
- After being in a chase for 30/25/20 seconds, Survivor activates
- Getting hit by the killer while this perk is active causes you to negate the hit without getting a speed boost.
- You get the exhausted status effect for 60 seconds after this perk has been used.
"Listen here, if you're gonna make it in this world, you need me!" -Archie Macmillan
Unforgiving
Nothing slides with you.
- After being hooked by the killer, Unforgiving activates
- The next time you stun a killer, the stun lasts for 1/2/3 seconds longer

I really like this! It seems very well put together, and I love the concept of using old chapters and adding on to their stories!

Howard's Fate seems like a pain in the ass, but is very interesting and doesn't last very long while also having a strong effect. I like it!
The sink holes are quite interesting as well, giving the Miner very good mobility ontop of the tracking and easier approach given to him by Howard's Fate.
His iridescent add-ons are also interesting while being fair, I like them!
There are also only 2 purple add-ons and both of them are better than the iridescent add-ons by a lot. Maybe they could be nerfed a little in the numbers?
Past Mistakes is a really cool power that seems like a better Dragon's Grip, but they do serve very different roles as a preventative measure and a reactionary measure respectively. It's pretty cool, and strong while not being overpowered.
Caved In is just annoying without giving the tracking that Thrilling Tremors gives, the meme factor of Hex: Blood Favor, or the niche but powerful strengths of Cruel Limits. Maybe instead all windows, pallets and generators within 20 meters of a hooked Survivor are blocked, but you slow down for 5% for every 10 seconds you're within that range, stopping at 95% with a cooldown of 100/80/60 seconds?
Hex: Smog is very cool, but how would it work with Ruin?
Ok, Toughened is interesting and definitely seems nice to have sometimes, but what do you mean by "struggles more efficiently?"
Survivor is better Mettle of Man. And I mean OLD Mettle of Man. Perks shouldn't negate hits like this in my opinion at all, so I do think this is better off reworked. If Survivor allowed you to heal over time if you escape a chase, but you're Broken for that time, that'd be cool.
Unforgiving is just "Respect pallets or die, loser". I don't like it for the simple fact of it encouraging Killers to actively play worse just because it exists, since it gives no indication that it's active nor really can it. It could instead be like a perk that sabotages other Survivors slightly for a great advantage of your own? I don't know how to implement that but it would fit with what you seem to be going for with Archie's character.
I like this chapter, but some of it is a bit rough in my opinion. It's definitely really cool though! The lore is also on point.

The way Hex: Smog would work with ruin is that it'll make it so that the gen doesn't spark when they tap it
Struggles more efficiently would basically be how boil over works in that the killer gets swayed from struggling more

Ah, alright. Thanks for clearing those up!
