What are your opinions about keys and what are some ideas to nerf them ?

Im not a killer main or a survivor main but to be honest I hate keys as a killer because apparently I always have to be forced to change my play style and constantly run severe gen defense perks , and it robs me from getting my adept achievements although I have one more left which is the plague adept and it took me a while to get the trickster adept. Regardless of people escaping with a key I still count it as a 4k because they half completed their objective.

    For keys

    1. Key spawn rate in chests drastically reduced

    2. Key rarity changed to be display on survivor (mostly between broken and not broken keys)

    3. Key has a 10 second delay to open hatch

    4. Key opens and closes on survivor opening hatch preventing multiple escapes

Reasoning for these is that keys are the most game changing item by far. They have way too much impact on an entire game.

    Hatch change

    1. Have a minimum requirement of 2 gens done for hatch to spawn for final survivor

This discourages survivors from just hiding and abandoning teammates early on

Key only allows the survivor using it to escape (possibly this can be changed to multiple survivors with an iridescent add-on).

But really the big change should be to the hatch. Only spawn the hatch once all five gens are complete or only one survivor is left in the trial. No more hatch spawning when there are three survivors with only one gen left. No more multiple survivors escaping before gens are complete. No more hatch camping.

    I don't want keys nerfed.

I want keys removed from the game.

SImple solution is hatch only spawns when 1 survivor is left or when all generators are completed

I agree with this. Mostly just the part so that the singular person using the key can escape but I do think they could add some add-ons that let one more person use it as well or something like that

I'd prefer to leave them and bring back the old mori's myself, but it is what it is.

I'd make the keys only good for one person myself which is perfect for the purple key, but not great for the Iri.

My first thought for an Iri keyis to make the key respawn elsewhere on the map once used, but then we'll end up with duplicate iri keys and that's no good. So my next best idea is as follows.....

    • Survivor uses Iri key and gets out with his key and loses addons per usual
    • Hatch closes immediately and let's no one else out.
    • If it's an iri key, spawn a chest with a new key in it. We'll call it the "Entity's Key". Give the blight coloring so it's distinctive and easy to spot when in somebodies hand.
    • if an Entity's Key is spawned, there needs to be a notification that both the remaining survivors and the killer get so that they know it's in play.
    • If an Entity's key is used to open the hatch, it doesn't go with the survivor, and a new one will spawn if there's still a 3rd survivor in play.
    • If at any time the hatch is closed by the killer and the EGC is triggered, keys are disabled and cannot be used.

The idea behind it is to make Iri's worth bringing to get out multiple people, but to make those remaining people work for it while giving the killer time to catch them.

I just want the chest bug dealt with, for there to be an animation you need to go through to open that hatch, and only 1 person can escape through it with a key. I'd even go as far to say if someone uses a key with 2 survivors left, the key negates the 1 survivor left rule and still immediately closes the hatch behind the survivor so the last survivor has to do a gen or just have it in that situation auto cause egc so the survivor has to get a door.
