A Clown Will Never Come to DBD

Does anyone know the exact stream in-which Matthew specifically stated that a clown killer would most likely never come to Dead by Daylight because of the phobias that surround the image of a clown. I have literally skimmed through most of the streams and found nothing. Anyone have any idea which one it was??

    I feel click-baited since I already played against plenty of clowns and had a bottle cracked on poor Dwight's head... But I have heard of this comment before. They decided to make his comment into a perk instead.

    I’m pretty sure it was just word of mouth by people trying to shoot down suggestions and it became so commonly said that everyone started to believe it. I’ve seen so many comments with similar things saying they will never come to DBD I.e. doll killers, supernatural killers, or werewolves. Same thing goes for people saying that the next killer will be original/licensed. So many people in the Steam forums said that the next killer would be original and the devs said so before the Pig was announced. I’ve watched just about ever stream and a I don’t ever recall them saying anything of the sort so I’m pretty sure it’s all just bs.

    If it's true that he actually said that, then I'm astounded. I'm sure plenty of people have phobias of cannibals, but there's Leatherface. There are also people who are quite afraid of child molesters, but Freddy is in the game. And he's a clown in this game too!

    It wasn't because of the phobia if I remenber it correctly he was reading QA question one of wich was something like "Clown killer when?"
    and he responded "That would just be silly"

    There was actually a point when he said directly they wouldn’t make a clown due to clown phobias. Not only did that become a perk, but he bamboozeld us, and ALSO mad that a perk. Then at the last second pop goes the weasel, it turns out to be a clown

    I also remember that when buying this game I bought an assymetrical HORROR-game.
    Seems like devs dont take words too serious

    I have been asking the same question everywhere, people keep saying they swear they heard it yet no one can point to the time and place it was said. Inb4 someone says, ''I don't have time to look but it happened''

    I wouldn't blame them for not wanting to spend literal hours rewatching really old dev stream to pinpoint the exact stream it happened in

    But you'd think at least one person out of the many that claim it to be something the Devs said would remember when it was.

    That's my point, it's been all over various forums and one would imagine that someone could find this clip or at least have a dev stream range in which it was said.

    The steam you are asking for was at least 6 months ago. Do you really expect people to remember the exact stream number of a comment that took less than 30 seconds?

    People also say Chucky will never come. is there hope? they did say on the SAW stream that initially they have Billy (Jigsaw doll) in the game before they committed to doing Amanda, due to time requirement that it would've demanded to have a killer of that size moving up and down stairs with survivors on them.

    Honestly, I dont see why it matters so much. Creative teams can change their minds about something all they want, and a single random question in one random stream nobody seems to remember should not stop them.

    I think it comes down to the fact that this is a horror game, and most people that are afraid of clowns wouldn't be into a horror game in the first place. If you're here playing then chances are clowns don't bother you. Maybe they do actually scare you, but there is a difference between being scared of clowns and having a PHOBIA of clowns. The former means that you can put up with them but get freaked a bit. The latter means you can literally not function in the presence of a clown. Phobias are powerful fears that can shut down your brain basically.
