Rambo in DBD
After this survey Rambo in dbd sounds like the stupidest yet best idea ever. Since we have ash with voice acting we could even have Stallone talking in the lobby
How would you feel about him in the game?

Depends on if Rambo is a killer or survivor, wait either one would be awesome, both would be MEGADOUBLEAWESOME.

An action hero in dbd? Doesn't really seem to fit so no. He shouldn't be in the game.
10 -
If Rambo was a killer, i'd feel like he would get the trickster treatment, gun shots wouldn't immediately injure survivors, you have to shoot the survivor like 15 times or something, he would be a weaker version of deathslinger... and yeah i'm not for that.
I'd prefer if he was a survivor to be honest.
1 -
Well given that that's my main Man of course I'd love Rambo!! The best thing about it is survivors can really be anyone. So the fact he's Rambo/a hero is nothing to me. Heros die too lol
1 -
Eh I think he fits Mortal Kombat better
5 -
Yeah he fits really well there but I think he has potential here similar to ash in a way
3 -
Nah I rather would like to see that DbD dating sim.
1 -
Why did we have to choose between alien and predator? Why not both with Rambo in the middle?!
3 -
Exactly
1 -
lol seriously? Rambo is totally out of place for this game.
1 -
This is the only right answer here
1 -
If a Kpop can be in it, Rambo can. Id rather Alien, Creeper and other other non licensed themes like a pirate or vampire or something
2 -
I mean bill is kinda too. They’re both former soldiers

Wasn´t there a question to see dbd chars in other games?
0 -
There was

But i don´t remember if dating sims was an option.

I am all for kooky crossovers and would not mind having Rambo in for that reason. That being said, realistically speaking, I don't think he'd make sense unless they went with First Blood Rambo and didn't acknowledge anything after that. Post-First Blood Rambo makes no sense as a Killer, and I think he is too much of a one-man army to really work as a Survivor in general.
Also, I haven't had a chance to see this survey. Are there other 3rd party characters listed, out of curiosity?

Pretty sure scooby doo was listed
0 -
I want Shrek before Rambo.
0 -
We already have oni
1 -
Entity confirmed to be Old Man Jenkins the whole time.
0 -
Fair enough, I'd settle for Donkey then.

What survey are yall talking about???

It's on the DBD twitter, you can check the side bar of the forums it should be there

The latest one posted on BHVR's twitter account.

I dunno about rambo but it gives me an idea. If we had a soldier with ptsd. He see's survivors and thinks theyre the Vietcong.
0 -
So he’d have white eyes like slinger or wraith? That could be cool
0 -
Ah I'm on my phone so it doesn't pop up. Thanks!
1 -
Don't worry I made a poll to see what people would prefer between Rambo and scooby doo

Ash is in the game tho and we have a Kpop star
0 -
They are fine because in both instances they are both centered around a horror theme and story. Ash's characters is from a horror show and movie and the Kpop star has elements of horror that makes it acceptable. Its slasher horror with just the esthetic and background of kpop.
Rambo is an ACTION hero from an ACTION movie. It's like putting Spiderman in DBD the character and story has nothing to do with horror.
0 -
Dude have you seen ash vs evil dead? It’s basically a comedy action show with elements of horror
1 -
There are movies and shows that are both comedy and horror. Ever watch a move called Tucker and Dale vs Evil? Sure it's comedy but there is also obvious elements of horror and a horror centered story. If it was possible to be in game I would be fine with it.
Rambo is not horror and the stor he is from is not a horror story. So he won't fit in the game at all.
1 -
But why not? I mean none of the original survivors come from horror
0 -
May as well get justice league in there as well
1 -
The original survivors were created for a horror game, with horror elements and story. They came from horror the moment they were created for the horror game.

Tbf the first Rambo movie while still an action film has some dark themes about PTSD and the way war veterans are treated.
Deathslingers lore is about how Irish people were treated poorly during the old west.
1 -
everything goes at this point, go for it
lets not forget that in the first movie he is hardly an action hero.
the ultimate survivor seems like a logical person for the entity to take into her trials
1 -
More than likely a stand alone like ash
1 -
Well actually none of the survivors stories involve horror, they’re regular people and as @Phasmamain said the 1st Rambo movie dealt with ptsd and how vets are treated post war.
honestly I think Rambo would fit the style of dead by daylight perfectly
1 -
I disagree. The characters of dbd both killer and survivor was created specifically for horror. Ash's characters was created specifically for horror, Michael Myers and laurie strode were made specifically for horror. Rambo's character was made not for horror but for action movies.
Because of the difference in the genra these characters were created I don't think Rambo, an action characters has a place in horror.
And I meant to @Phasmamain for this but just because Rambo have themes of dealing with ptsd and how vets are treated after war that doesn't specifically mean that it's horror. A lot of other movies deals with those simpler themes but we don't classify them as horror do we?
Ultimately I respect your opinion as to why you think Rambo should be in DBD but in my opinion I don't think he fits.
1 -
Ehh. Yeah, I get that people are arguing that Ash is in the game, but the “Evil Dead” is a horror comedy. In fact, I would LOVE Grace (the bride) from “Ready or Not” in this game, another horror comedy. The Trickster is an amoral serial killer. I understand that the first “Rambo” movie did have some dark themes, but I just don’t see it for this game. I wouldn’t mind a survivor who maybe could take some elements, like hiding and trapping.

rambo and free fire
1 -
Considering for a moment we already have Ash and Bill, Rambo would probably fit in quite well
1 -
I gotta agree, I don’t think he fits.
The theme of dbd plays into horror movie tropes. That’s basically what it’s influenced by and where it sits genre wise.
This keeps the theme and the feel of the game consistent. Not to say it can’t encompass other ideas after all there is a K-pop killer that has a clean cut American psycho kind of feel to it, I’m not a big fan but it’s still mostly on theme.
Once you have Rambo, then what Bruce Willis from die hard, etc etc…
Crossovers rarely bring out the best in franchises.
While Ash Williams borders on comedy it’s originally horror. Evil Dead is a campy horror flick from the 80’s and definitely is on theme for DBD.
It could be action horror, horror comedy, psychological horror, etc, but the core theme that ties it together is horror.
