Xbox Lobby Dodgers

So I've just recently turned X-Play off on Xbox to check out the difference & one thing I've noticed is that the some survivors will constantly join a group then leave and keep repeating this over & over. I initially thought they were fishing for groups or players, but quickly realised that it's pointless because they can just join as a SWF at any point.

So my question is why do people do this? It's not like it's a one off and I've seen it happen countless times when the same player just joins and leaves over and over.

    Probably checking latency.

I still do this to some extent (likely not as much as the people you've seen), but it's only motivated by avoiding a bad/unstable connection in the pre-game lobby. If my latency is regularly hanging out at or spiking above 100ms before the match has even started, then I'll back out and try again in another lobby.

Better to just dodge high-ping lobbies instead of playing in laggy trials.

Makes sense I've been in a few matches as survivor when the other 3 players + killer are working in collaboration. Guess it's easier to exploit the queue system on console when X-Play is turned off.
