Is complaining about hit boxes moot

I haven't played DBD in a while and, from what I understood, dedicated servers were going to resolve the issues surrounding lag. Perhaps there will never be a solution as this is just the nature of online play. From my recent account, at least on the PS4, it's still a regular problem: Unreasonable hit landings, unresponsive pallets laggy pallet drops, or thrown pallets with killer stun but the hit still lands, vaulting the pallet with feet away but the hit will still land, etc., etc. I'm sure you hear it all day. The in most cases the issues always seem to revolve around pallets. So my question again is: is this just an issue we'll have to deal with because of too many variables to control? Just frustrating especially in a game where timing is everything.
