The Owls coo, and your prey stands ignorant, ready to be slaughtered. Rise! The glorious hunt has begun!

New Killer: The Huntsman

Speed: 115%

Height: Average

TR: 24 meters

Name unknown, the huntsman had been seen prowling the forests of Eastern Europe in brief glimpses. What was seen, however, was his prey. People would gaze upon the corpses of deer, bears, and other humans as they pass through the forest. They were all missing something. Limbs, eyes, belongings, and sometimes even heads. But one summer day, while a group of soldiers passed through the forest, they noticed something ominous among the usual fare of corpses: two gleaming eyes staring at them from a tree. They quickly shot, only for each of them to get a hatchet in their back. The Huntsman, for the first time, is confused.

Similar encounters would happen throughout the next few years, an unseen hunter taking away his trophies, and with them was always a faint but persistent hum. He decides to follow this home to small cabin in the heart of the woods. As he approaches the hut, he still does not catch a glimpse of the mysterious hunter, and the humming has ceased. What he does hear is faint sobbing coming from inside. He opens the door. Before he even gets a chance to see where the noise is coming from, fog completely blocks his vision. As it swirls around him, he hears the whisper of a sinister voice. He isn't hunting for himself anymore.

Base Cosmetics:

Head: Headgear constructed out of a single deer carcass. Covers the face so only bloodthirsty eyes are visible.

Body: The fur coat of a man who entered the huntsman's lair.

Weapon: A hunting hatchet customized with bones and antlers to fit The Huntsman's large hands. Although it is intended to be thrown, he prefers the crossbow and so uses this only for close range.

Power: Grevious Hunt

Press the Power Button to activate Grievous Hunt. When activated, The Huntsman crouches while he puts away his hatchet and pulls out his crossbow. While crouched, The Huntsman becomes Undetectable but moves at only 100% speed in exchange. While using your power, all blood stains that are currently on the map will not go away so long as your power remains activated.

Crossbow

Shooting a survivor with the crossbow will down them if they are injured, but instead of injuring a healthy survivor, it applies the Hunter's Mark. After the Crossbow is fired, Grievous Hunt ends and cannot be activated again until the Crossbow is reloaded.(Hitting a healthy survivor with 2 arrows injures them) You can tell this is applied to a survivor when they have a crosshair over their portrait in the HUD. This effect is present until the survivor removes the arrow either by standing still to remove it (10 seconds) or by removing it while running (5 seconds, scream after removed) or crouching (8 seconds, breathing 200 percent louder while removing) While marked, survivors leave scratch marks and blood trails regardless of if they are injured or not, or if they are crouching or standing still. The Huntsman also gets alerted with Killer Instinct whenever the survivor does an action. This can activate every 30 seconds but only triggers when a survivor begins an action.

Active Ability: Tracker

When upon a blood trail, and Grievous Hunt is active, press the active ability button to activate tracker. After 3 seconds of examining the blood, the aura of the survivor it belongs to is revealed to you for 10 seconds so long as you remain in Grievous Hunt. After doing this, you cannot use tracker again on that same survivor until you injure or down them by any means, or a 35 second cooldown has passed.

Power addons:

Brown:

broken arrow: Crossbow shots no longer can injure or down survivors. Gain 200 extra bloodpoints in deviousness for successful crossbow shots.

Tobacco Tin: A tarnished metal tin containing a chewy substance. Hunter's Mark lasts slightly (3 seconds) longer.

Lightweight Shaft: Hollow and thin, this arrow shaft allows for faster firing of a bow. Crossbow shots travel slightly (133%) faster.

Wood Whistle: A child's toy found in an abandoned satchel. Makes a sharp noise when blown into. Tracker takes slightly (.5 seconds) less long to activate.

Yellow:

Serrated arrowhead: an arrowhead with several metal barbs attached. Painful to remove. Removing arrows takes slightly (2 seconds) longer.

Old Man's scalp: The scalp of the old man who trespassed The Huntsman. Movement Speed in Grievous Hunt is increased moderately (5 percent)

Toxic Arrowhead: An arrowhead tipped with a clear, slippery toxin. Arrows inflict the Exhausted Status effect for 10 seconds, but this does not effect existing exhaustion timers. Arrows take 1 second less to remove.

Decaying Quiver: A disintegrated Quiver that is held together with bits of mud and grass. The Crossbow can be fired twice before it has to be put away.

Green:

Sharp arrowhead: An arrowhead scavenged from a hunter that dare challenge The Huntsman. Fills the holder with pride. Arrows inflict the Hindered Status effect for 15 seconds.

Quickdraw Quiver: An expertly designed quiver that keeps arrows stable but also allows for easy access. Moderately decreases reload time of the crossbow (from 2 seconds to 1.5) and Increases arrow count by 2.

Wooden Doll: A doll carefully wrapped in cloth that was found at the mysterious hunter's cabin. Something about it evokes fear in the beholder. Survivors that are affected by Tracker also suffer the Hunter's Mark for 20 seconds.

Bloodied Antler: An aged elk skeleton that bore this bloodstained antler was found by The Huntsman long ago. He has since sharpened it and used it as a weapon. Survivors revealed by Tracker suffer from the Blindness status effect until hooked by The Huntsman.

Purple:

Knee Brace: A knee brace worn by an injured man. The Huntsman took it and used it as an accessory until it was fractured when a Bear made a futile attempt to attack him. No crossbow arrows are lost on successful hits.

Obsidian Arrowhead: A foreign man wearing this arrowhead on his necklace was swiftly killed by The Huntsman. One of his most prized trophies. Survivors suffer from the incapacitated status effect for 30 seconds after removing an arrow.

Old Man's Skull: A skull that has been nailed to a tree in The Huntsman's lair. The Crossbow can fire 4 extra shots before having to reload, but each arrow must be reloaded individually.

Bunny Mask: A fragile bunny mask with an arrow embedded into it. Found near the body of a deceased soldier. Move Tremendously (10 percent) Faster while Grievous Hunt is active.

Red:

Iridescent Shaft: A glass-like shaft, molded from the fog. Bears an unreadable inscription. Arrows shot from the crossbow are now hitscan, but Tremendously (6 seconds) increases cooldown of Grievous Hunt after firing the Crossbow.

Soldier's vest: A true artifact, a vest with both an arrow from The Huntsman and a hatchet from the Unknown rival embedded into it. Strangely, these two items seem impossible to remove. The Crossbow has infinite ammo, however you must exit Grievous Hunt after a hard limit of 3 shots.

Perks:

Hex: Determined Hunter

Your acute senses and strength are elevated even more by success in the trial. For each unique survivor hooked, gain a token to a maximum of four. When the token limit is reached, a random dull totem becomes a hex totem. You now recover from flashlight and pallet stuns 35/40/45 percent faster (does not stack) and survivor auras are revealed to you within 8 meters. All survivors see the aura of the hex totem for 5 seconds after the hex activates.

Death Trap

After a survivor enters a locker within your terror radius, the locker becomes blocked by the entity for 3/5/7 seconds. Had a cooldown of 45 seconds.

Hidden Threat:

When no survivors are in your terror radius, you move 3/5/7 percent faster. Does not apply when you are Undetectable or a survivor is Oblivious. Speed boost persists for 3 seconds after a survivor enters your terror radius.

EDIT: SURVIVOR TIME

Survivor: Markelle Williams

Mark Williams was a successful students in one of the most prestigious art schools in all of Canada. So when he disappeared without a trace, it came as a shock to many. The last anyone heard of him was that he ate lunch at a diner, but the owner never heard him exit. Even despite thorough searching, he was never found. Little did anyone know that he wasn't anymore on the face of the Earth.

(I know this lore is really basic, I'll focus on it more later on.)

Perks:

Artistic Eye

Your trained eye allows you notice the movements of the killer more easily. When in a chase with you, the killer's Red Stain is extended by 10/20/25 percent.

Unwavering Determination

You are no stranger to having to claw your way to the top, and the trials are no different. Whenever you are within 15 meters of a hooked survivor AND within 16 meters of the killer for a minimum of 10/7/5 seconds, you gain the Endurance status effect until one of these conditions is no longer true or you are hit with any attack. If you are healthy, the effect will apply immediately once you become injured.

Gladiator

You're a born fighter, whether your appearance supports this or not. Each time you stun the killer by any means, gain 1/2/3 tokens to a maximum of 6. Each token increases the amount the wiggle meter starts at by 6 percent whenever the killer picks you up.

Please uh, increase the Terror Radius to 32 or 40, even since this is a long ranged Killer.

The way the crossbow works itself though is incredibly interesting, but I think an arrow should only be able to be removed while standing still or running, and shouldn't have separate properties while crouching. Also, how do you even reload the crossbow?

Instead of the odd requirement of having to injure or down a Survivor with Tracker, why not just give it a flat cooldown of 40 seconds and make the aura reading last 10 seconds and remove the 3 second extension?

This power is bloated enough without Hunter's Charge, making the speed you move at in Grievous Hunt 105 or 110% but removing Hunter's Charge would probably be the best, making the Huntsman (prob too similar to Huntress in name btw) a stealth alternative to the Huntress with greater map control and tracking at the cost of snowball potential.

Both of the Iridescent Add-ons have very interesting changes to the power, and I like the incorporation of some references to the Huntress into the add-ons and the snippet of lore.

I think there's a typo with Hex: Determined Hunter where it has 2 different times Survivors see the aura of the totem? Anyways, the aura reveal from Determined Hunter should be within 8 meters full stop, and have the stun time be 25/35/45% so we don't get literally no stun when using Enduring, and DS isn't just punished by a pat on the back instead of a missile from a bazooka.

Death Trap is pretty cool, despite probably not being too great most of the time.

Hidden Threat is just an indirect buff to every Stealth Killer because of the Undetectable status effect and I like it. It's also just better Whispers because you lose the Haste effect the instant a Survivor is within your TR. Maybe make the speed boost last 5 seconds after a Survivor enters your TR or something so it isn't a tracking perk? Otherwise, I like this perk a lot.

Overall, good chapter but jeez is the power bloated.

yeah, I should probably increase the TR. I was hesitant about adding Hunter's charge for the reason you said but I was scared to make a killer without antiloop, but it isn't even serviceable for that so I should probably do away with it and adjust the addons.

As for Tracker, I wanted it to support a playstyle where you actively track down and hunt a survivor. I do think the aura reading change is a great suggestion. Thank you for pointing out the typo with Determined Hunter, I also made another one where I forgot to mention that the stun resistance does not stack. I also didn't really think about DS but I should address that too. And I'll make a change to Hidden Threat.

Oh, and here's how reloading the crossbow works: Once you use all of your bolts (1 at base) you exit your power and before you can enter it again you have to reload it. After that, the power is usable once again. And I know the killer name isn't that creative, but I didn't know what else to call it. I considered "The Tracker" but that sounds too similar to Trapper.

Wow, that's a lot. Thanks so much for the feedback!

That's fair with the name, because finding synonyms with Hunter without doing basic things like Pursuer or Stalker and without doing something already present in DBD is really hard.

Also, how long does it take to reload the crossbow?

I had to sneak it in the Quickdraw Quiver addon description because it's not in the main power.

It takes 2 seconds, but you retain your speed.
