As a killer main, I really don't mind it. It can be a tiny bit frustrating since it's activated during a chase rather than at the beginning like sprint burst, but I still think it feels fair enough. It does take skill to use well though. Sure, a dead hard for distance might guarantee a pallet or whatever, but they had to get into that situation to begin with.

    What's this, a Bear Trap?

    runs faster over it

A killer can successfully mindgame a survivor and get punished for it because they can dodge your attack with little to no skill in the laggiest way possible. Of course the killer can read a DH play to counter, but there's no counter vs a survivor using DH for distance.

I'm still waiting to see how they'll change Dead Hard as it was a perk designed when the game was under host-based servers.

    Make a mistake? E

Killer makes you run the wrong way before breaking the pallet? no worries E

Need some extra time at a loop? run an extra one and press E

It Is unfair when used correctly and a huge time waster, time a killer doesn't have in a game balanced for the lowest common denominator. Especially when the killer has lower ping then you.

Playing killer is all about time management. When to commit to a chase and when to drop it. When to kick a gen, or when to learn to let it go. Etc.

When you hit a survivor and continue chasing them, only for them to make it to a strong loop because they have DH, there goes another 30-40 seconds of your time. You now need to commit to the chase or drop. Either way the survivor has won. They have wasted too much of your time.

Now times that by 4 with unlimited uses. That is why DH is on people's raider as a perk that needs a nerf.

That is at the top of the food chain tho. More often then not DH works to my advantage when I play killer. Survivors think doing a 180 and DH will trick me or they simply DH into obstacles... in those cases DH works for the killer lol.

It is literally possible to lose mindgames and misplay as a survivor in a loop but make it irrelevant because you pressed E and the killer can't do anything about it before you make the pallet.

There should never be a perk that's just "Fix mistake by pressing E", but here we have Dead Hard.

Like others have said, it's total uncounterable BS when used for distance.

But it's especially frustrating when you use all of your rushes as Blight, you perfectly predict where survivors are going to go and then when you're about to hit them they just use that ######### and undo the fact your play should have outplayed them.

I used to think it was fine, and that DH for distance at least required some map knowledge. i've since changed my mind. Pressing E to fix your mistake is representative of exactly what is wrong with this game.
