Currently, Third Seal is my preferred hex to protect with Undying.
Seriously. Now that it can be properly protected by Undying (until recently it was bugged to lose tokens), it's brutal as hell.
The blindness status is kinda bad, sure, but it's only bad in small amounts.
Blindness on 1-2 people from a Clown add-on is dogshit.
Blindness on an entire team indefinitely is incredible.
Even though a SWF can mitigate Third Seal with comms, 99% of SWF lobbies don't have the necessary degree of constant, precise communications necessary to properly deal with third seal, and if a solo player is out of the loop they're #########.
To give you an idea of all the things this ######### with to some degree...
- Trail of Torment's highlight is not shown
- Hag Traps are not highlighted by clicking a flashight
- People cannot find slugs.
- Slugs cannot find allies to crawl towards.
- People cannot properly coordinate Flashlight saves due to not knowing the exact position of the body.
- People cannot properly coordinate Sabo saves.
- People cannot properly coordinate Bodyblocks.
- If they don't pay attention, people can easily miss where a hook is.
- Key aura reading is ruined
- Mass Key Escapes are very difficult because it's harder to find teammates
- Maps are ruined except for glass bead
- Aftercare
- Alert
- Autodidact (hard to get tokens when you can't find people/slugs)
- Babysitter
- Better Together
- Blood PAct
- Bond
- Breakdown
- Breakout (good luck coordinating this when you can't find the slugs)
- Buckle Up
- Dark Sense
- Deliverance (in solo queue, the blocking of perks like Kindred and Bond means you aren't the only one who is going to go for the save)
- Deja Vu
- Detective's Hunch
- Empathy
- For the People (Good ######### luck coordinating this)
- Kindred
- Left Behind
- No One Left Behind
- Object of Obsession
- Open Handed
- Plunderer's Instinct
- Red Herring
- Repressed Alliance
- Saboteur
- Visionary
- Wake Up
- We'll Make It (see Deliverance)
- Windows of Opportunity
A big factor for how good Third Seal feels is that most survivors are not used to fighting Third Seal.
I like to watch the VOD after I fight a TTV player, and the rate at which Third Seal causes them or their SWF to make massive misplays (up to and including allowing people to die on hook or on the ground because they can't find them) is absolutely massive.

First time I ever used third seal I had three objects... You could say it helped lol

I love third seal, too bad I'm bad at killer and can't get enough hits in quick enough. Big sad
1 -
I agree honestly people underrate Third Seal it can be ######### deadly if used right and like you said SWF can’t coordinate with slugs and Davis cause of blindness i just wish it was stronger with blindness

Hex the third seal V A L U E
2 -
Third Seal is fun and all but I find it often leads to very short games if the hex stays up.

Now I'm intrigued to try it on the twins 😈😈😈

Third Seal, same as Knockout, is mostly a solo-bullying perk. It does almost nothing against the absolutely significant majority of SWF teams - not because they are good, but because it only takes a moment to go "hey, I'm slugged outside shack."
Which is a good thing, because I only ever see third seal on slugging builds. You know, the builds whose counterplay doesn't exist for solo survivors.

Last time I tried third seal was with knockout and pig's blindness addon just for overkill, that was a disconnect 4
I used to love it on legion when frenzy attacks applied it
1 -
wait, does it work on the Pig? if i have someone blind with this hex and they have a trap on their head, can they see the jigsaw boxes?

Same

Full blindness is great, but let's be real, it's a hex. It's not going to stay up for that long.
0 -
Well with Maps and Detectives hunch rendered useless, it'll stay up longer than most other Hexes.

I don't mean that, I mean the totems literally spawning up the survivors' ***
0 -
Sure it's always going to feel like that for the killer.
When you play killer Ruin is gone in 20s, when you play survivor you can't find the Hex totem for the first 10 minutes of the match if at all.
2 -
They can see jigsaw boxes.
0 -
Well unfortunately I play killer so I'll take my Surge and leave, thank you very much, you ruin using casual.
0 -
Oh I use both.
It's either Ruin + Surge for speed or Corrupt + Pop for pressure.
0 -
By itself it dies immediately.
With Undying, you can usually keep it up for at least six minutes unless you're extremely unlucky.

SWF. /thread
I wish people would stop making these threads that promote terrible perks

Honey, every time I run undying, I'm the one who gets cursed. Ruin undying gone in 30 seconds, pre-patch.
0 -
I just use NOED. Easy solution.

Third Seal, Undying, Trail of Torment, Franklins on Hag.
Hide the ToT highlight for mega sneaks.
Prevent people from destroying traps with impunity by hiding when you pick up the survivor.
Blindness slugging snowball.

SWF aren't psychic.
They have to communicate and explain things with words, which inevitably takes longer than just seeing it.
If somebody goes down against Third Seal and wants to get pallet/flashlight saved, it takes their teammates long enough to communicate where they are that the opportunity to save is gone.
If somebody is getting slugged, "I'm downed at the junk tile in the middle of Blood Lodge" is hardly a precise set of directions.
