Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Exclusive Cosmetics are Good, the Problem was your Approach Devs

I'm honestly really starting to get sick of this, "No exclusive cosmetics" mindset the devs have now. The devs seem to now be taking a poor overwatch approach, where you have multiple shots at obtaining the event items every time that holiday comes around, except if you just don't want to you can always buy the cosmetics and not worry about it (excluding the most recent Halloween event where there was no opportunity to earn the cosmetics for free). Effectively making none of the Halloween cosmetics exclusive with the exception of charms.

My biggest problem with this is just at random they'll randomly decide to switch back to exclusive. There's the 4th anniversary cosmetics (Crowns as well but they're almost guaranteed to be coming back) for Deathslinger and Claudette which will probably be reused in the 5th anniversary as a middle finger to those who got them last time. Then there's also the year of the rat exclusive cosmetics (Dwight, Hillbilly, Nea). Now we're onto code exclusive cosmetics again except now you don't have to pay for a plane ticket to get them, just have to stalk all the fog whisperers and the official accounts. But the main appeal of battle passes are loss except for the microscopic charms.

Now do you not see the hypocrisy and inconsistency here? Exclusive cosmetics are not the problem, it's how and what you're deciding is exclusive that's the problem. You give away the code exclusives to everyone, which can be argued was fair since people were getting scammed because of it (ignoring how you said it was a Christmas gift) then proceeded to give away event exclusives which no one called for using the logic that applies to legacy as well but decided to just ignore that part (I don't think legacy should be given away mind you) and it's just like why?
