Public Test build and console
Am I the only one who feels like they should get rid of PTB or make it only available to fog whisperers? Since PTB is unavailable for console, depending on what changes and what stays; pc players kind of have a slight upper hand when it comes to that when it comes to crossplay matches. Since they really don't do anything when something is reported for like an actual infraction across the board at least change the requirements for PTB so that something can require practice getting used to for everyone and in exchange for that just turn off the pipping temporarily for a week and that could technically be counted as a PTB on all platforms.

You'd rather lobby for them to get rid of the PTB altogether instead of asking for it to come to the console versions?
Reducing it to only Fog Whisperers would be pointless and make the PTB's existence irrelevant.

if there are enough fog whisperers to collab together it wouldn't be pointless bc they still get enough traction to see what to expect, if you can watch a YT on the game of pc players doing a PTB you still get a general idea of what to expect, not to mention PTB works against the newer players they're already at a disadvantage bc the matchmaking system isn't perfect. it doesn't look like a PTB will be coming to console anytime soon so why not get rid of it altogether, limit it, or make it to where they do minor small updates and temporarily disable pips so that you can still do a PTB just across all platforms, making it for pc only doesn't take in account of everyone that plays it and since pc players already have a bigger upper hand. The Devs could try to make it at least seem like it could be fair for all platforms on a grander scale of things

Platforms like xbox and sony don't offer the level of control necessary to beta test something. With steam they have full control over the servers and can examine everything and how it works at a functional level. It also gives them a heads up on bugs that otherwise they wouldn't have. As bad as it seems leaving out consoles for the public test build is perfectly fine. You get a heads up on content coming into the game and better yet, any bugs identified are in the pipeline to be fixed for when your platform receives their update. If you want to participate in the ptb maybe just get dbd on pc. You aren't missing out on much but benefitting greatly from the bugs pc players identify before it goes live.

@MandyTalk with all the updates with next gen consoles, is there any hope of having PTBs for console players?

I don't think PTB can come to consoles. The point of the PTB is to make fast changes, but on consoles, every change has to be approved and pushed by the parent company (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo).
I also believe those changes cost the game developer's money to do. Which is why changes come to most console games in large pushes; it's much cheaper.
Also, saying 'I don't have this, so no one should get it' is kind of silly.

Xbox does actually have an app that allows beta testing. I've seen PUBG, Twitch and Minecraft all up there so maybe dbd could do something similar with the PTB?

This is just false. Battlefield 4 had a ptb on xbox

Again. False. Other games test on xbox
