Items that hard counter killers

Member Posts: 117

What about we just get rid of that out-dated mechanic?

I mean, for the first few killers I understand the devs wanted items to be able to counter their powers. You could sabotage trappers traps, you could burn (still can) the nurse and wraith when they are using their powers... and you can also get rid of hag's traps by just flashing a light at them.

I feel that's specially bad for hag, one of the least picked killers. She is already such a slog to play as, so slow, once you add a hard counter to her traps like that it just makes it miserable.

I understand this is not something that is breaking the game and shouldn't be a top priority, I just feel weird that this is still in the game.

I agree with this, but you also have to consider the fact that killers such as Plague counter survivor items. It's not just a killer issue.

They made it so no perks affect their powers directly, they should have done this same treatment to flashlights too. Most good Hags I see feel like they have to bring Franklins to every game because of how broken finding a flashlight in a chest is against them. Then we have Wraiths who if even thinks of breaking a pallet or going through a window while chasing a survivor with a flashlight while invisible, they wouldn't be able to do anything to prevent the stun.

Light burn is a pretty outdated mechanic and should be removed

Light burn needs to be removed and hag needs a more consistent disarm. Light burn doesn’t even effect nurse and it affects wraith too much.

It should go the way of trap sabotaging

Do you mean in he sense you can;t use your medkit for healing?

It still gives you a way to heal, in any case... it just comes with the downside of giving the killer it's power. If you could just use your medkit to get rid of the infection it would be too strong, I think. But I see your point.

Yes, it gives you a way of healing but if you brought a purple medkit with great add ons, it gets completely wasted.

I agree with the hag mechanic, but they would have to come up with a different way of dealing with her traps. She shouldn't have no counter to them as everyone knows that a good hag will consistently mess up most survivors.

Lightburn is fine on nurse because any nurse worth their marbles will just face the other way and flick right on top of any survivor trying to lightburn them. On Wraith it definitely can be annoying and maybe should be looked at but it honestly drains so much of a flashlight unless you have a full flashlight squad it isn't a huge issue.
