Double Standards
So if iridescent head +infantry belt was 'abusing' the addons then how is dead hard for distance not abusing the perk? Thats not what its meant for and killers dont have perks where they get hits where they shouldnt so why can survivors make it so they dont get hit when they deserve to?

It was intended but it was way too strong
5 -
I want it fixed. Its all i see anymore. Free pallets or windows everywhere because a survivor pressed E... my chases get extended from 10-20 seconds all the way up to 30-40 seconds because they dead hard to a new loop (which is of course the 5th super safe loop theyve come across because BHVR dosent believe in unsafe pallets anymore.
2 -
I was referring to iri head
Dead hard is fine. It extends chase like any other exhaustion perk
4 -
Are you a survivor main?
0 -
That’s irrelevant but I play both sides
6 -
If you lose 10 seconds minimum, you're failing to bait it out in situations where you can.
4 -
No, no, it's relevant: if you don't complain about everything that can somewhat favor survivors, you're clearly a survivor main
I second @Bloodshade: ??????????????????????????????????
7 -
Here we go again.
10 -
Dead hard, is far from fine dude. because unlike every other exhaustion perk, It literally gives you a second chance after you mess up during a chase, lithe and balanced landing are more used to get to a stronger loop and such, dead hard is pathetic. If you think dead hard is fine then man you've never played killer or experienced the power of it against you
2 -
lol, he's not wrong about this guy tho, rather the mindset of survivor mains are a lot worse than those of people accusing
0 -
I play killer fairly regularly and I can say that sprint burst is forever more annoying than DH will ever be
7 -
but sprint burst is used for the right intentions, dh right now isn't
1 -
DH is fine. This forum is full of killer mains and they are explaining above how to deal with it.
The last sentence quoted above is asinine.
1 -
Who says dead hard was explicitly made for dodging a hit. It gives a dash that clearly does make distance so the devs intended dead Harding to windows or pallets
4 -
It's funny how killer mains always find an "intended way" to use survivors perks just to justify demanding completely unreasonable nerfs. Dead Hard was "intended" to be what it is and to work how it works. At no point did they say "you have to bait or DH into the killer".
Just stop with this nonsense.
2 -
It’s not even killer mains. Just a few sore losers who blame the wrong factors for why they lost/are losing.
5 -
If Dead Hard wasn't intended to be used to gain any distance, it wouldn't have a dash.
Even before dedicated servers when dodging hits with Dead Hard was viable, you still wanted to dash towards a window or pallet to extend the chase, because dodging a single hit out in the middle of nowhere accomplished nothing.
0 -
Its also funny how if a killer main does anything a survivor dosent like (camping tunneling slugging) then the killer is an ######### but if a killer finds an issue with one perk you say its unreasonable.

So you think the person with over 4000 posts doesn't understand the game nor the perk?
What are your thoughts on Blood Lust? Dead hard is a perk that gets used maybe two times a game on average. It is easily baited out in a lot of instances. And directly counters a blood lusting killer.
0 -
If you get bloodlust as a killer then you obviously need help. In a game where the killer is supposed to be powerfull having something to equalize the odds if the killer is underpreforming is fair. If you dont like bloodlust just play around a mega safe pallet untill he is forced to break it (lord knows there are plenty of mega safe pallets in the game)
0 -
I did not say I didn't like bloodlust. I asked what your thoughts were on BL and pointed out that this perk directly counters a Blood Lusting killer. Which many killers will do . And is a mechanic in the game that could use a counter like DH
0 -
I ask this question because i as a killer main dont notice the things i do can be OP so i ask to see and know what your perspective is. If youve only used dh but never played against it you will obviously have different views and a different perspective. GTFO with trting to make me feel bad because im getting perspective. You should feel bad about assuming my intentions and telling me to feel bad.

“Killers don’t have perks where they get hits where they shouldn’t”
Coup De Grace? Basically an anti-Dead Hard. Spirit Fury also allows hits you otherwise wouldn’t get. There are insta-down perks that skip one hit entirely. Save The Best For Last has given me many hits I wouldn’t have got otherwise.
The “dodging a hit” part of Dead Hard is by far the weaker part of the perk, and the easiest thing in the world to counter if you a) expect it on every injured survivor, and b) have patience and wait for it before you lunge. You just need to work on not swinging/lunging too early.

I know some people have a problem with bloodlust. People complained about it like crazy. For those who dislike bloodlust thats how you counter it. But those were my thoughts on bloodlust. In most cases if you are playing well you shouldnt have chases long enough for bloodlust.
0 -
Third. Do we have a 4th?
0 -
But what about the free mega safe pallet that if you break it gives them time to get to a new really safe pallet? TBH i wouldnt are about dh if there werent so many safe loops everywhere. On hawkins i have no issue with deadhard because if you deadhard to a pallet its typically an unsafe pallet and possible to play arouns without you getting to a new pallet

Nothing good can come out of telling people that they have a crappy mindset and they should feel bad either. You just enforce the narrative by being toxic about it rather than allowing me some perspective
0 -
Yeah; that’s less easy to counter. Blood Echo?
This part of the perk was obviously intended though and isn’t “abusing” anything, annoying as it may be, otherwise the perk wouldn’t have the dash at all. Just like old Iri Belt wasn’t “abuse” of anything, DH isn’t either.

Perhaps of commenting on what im insinuating how about you ask why i want to know. Or perhaps dont take a shot at me personally for what you THINK im saying
0 -
Can you please show me were it is stated that Dead Hard isn’t intended to use for distance?
you are making bold statements and accusing many but it seems like you just don’t like the perk? (Which is okay, but then please formulate your feedback in a different way)
0 -
And becaus eyou play both sides i value that and your opinion. I know as killer i dont realize what survivors think is op and i know its the same the other way around
0 -
Tbh the more i post and respond to people im realising that my problem isnt really with dead hard its more about all of the super safe pallets in the game. It aslo includes the frusturation that the devs dont seeem to care about the overwhelming number of super strong pallets evidenced by the increase of safety on pallets in the coldwind farms maps.
0 -
Neither was abusing anything. Both were working as intended.
IRI head reduced hatchets by 4 and the belt added 2.
Dead Hard literally tells you that you dash forward. The distance is part of the perk description.
0 -
You’re comparing a one shot down add on to a perk that may/may not work depending on your set up??? 🤨
0 -
Iri head got nerfed because all of the survivors wewe saying having 3 iridescent heads was abusing the perk.
0 -
Yes because in the new maps its super easy to dead hard to a pallet and find another super strong pallet afterwards. This means they get to try to loop me around 2+super strong loop because they made it to the first one for free.

Source: you.
0 -
No they were saying it was overpowered and unfair to play against. Most of those people recognized that it was still intentional to be in the game.
1 -
I totally understand you, dead harding to windows or pallets is fine and the way it should work, but the part about the perk that I disagree with is how it lets you ignore a crucial mistake made during a chase. It's become more of an extra health state rather than a speed boost.
0 -
That is one opinion. But as other's more familiar with me would know, I am very much a 50/50 player as well a strong advocate for playing how a person wants to. It is a fair question if someone makes a thread talking about double standards and a particular perk, to explore said "double standards." As well to be curious about the OP's opinions since they were the one's that chose those terms.
Is that not what the forums are for? And does DH not counter Blood lust? But thanks for chiming in!
4 -
Thank you. You are amazing and i love you because you get it. Keep on keeping on my friend. :D
1 -
I certainly agree with your here. My point is that DH does indeed counter a blood lusting killer, which unfortunately you can run into quite a bit. I guess the difference for me would be that one is an addon (iri head) and one is a perk. And I, personally, don't believe an addon should override a whole perk slot.
But, thanks for the discussion and engaging in a thoughtful way.

You are amazing as well!! Enjoy your day!

Like someone has said before if dead hard or any other exhaustion perk is giving you trouble then you can easily run Blood Echo or Mind Breaker to keep them exhausted for longer. If you choose not to do that then I don't think you have a right to complain about people dead harding for distance opposed to tanking hits, since if they make the distance they are technically avoiding the hit in either case.
0 -
He's talking about the times where it's used to get to a pallet at the time where you should of got a hit but can't because of dh so unless your huntress deathslinger or nurse you cant do anything about that consistency
0 -
You get cope 5 times max
And you need 2 perks for spirit fury to give you a hit
I don't agree with how the op is saying this thoughts but they have reason
0 -
"Deadhard for distance is not what it's for" - What is dead hard for then? It's used to avoid an instance where you would otherwise take damage. That's exactly what survivors use it for.
0 -
"killers dont get hits where they shouldnt"
you mean Bloodlust?
0 -
I don't think they meant that, since they specify a 30-40 range for dead harding to a new loop, I think.
0 -
Ohh I didn't see that
