¿does Left 4 Dead have zombies or infected?
i have this question, why are the infected walking in bill's cutscene from the tome?.
i mean,IIRC,they were always infected people who walk when no survivor is on sight, and run when they see one,but in DBD cutscene, they are zombies with green skin, with exposed limbs and desfigured skin?? how is that?.
or maybe it's an alternative universe where they were zombies instead of infected? or the first weeks of the infection? idk, even the Tank died from a baseball bat hit.
the infected from dbd look more like undead rather than infected people.

There are a lot of wrong things about that video when compared to the actual L4D game tbh.
From the infected behaviour all the way to the Tank fight.
Canonically they are people infected by a unknown virus called "Green Flu", not actual zombies.
Also just FYI all this L4D tome memories and cutscenes are not canon to the main L4D storyline, just like it isn't canon for L4D for Bill being into the Entity's realm to begin with. He's just dead and that's it.

There is a theory that the green flu is a mutated version of rabies, And the L4D2 and L4D1 groups are immune to the infection
Plus we dont know if valve consider bill being in the realm canon or not, Some licenses (Halloween for example) consider their characters being in the realm canon (DBD Michael & laurie are just a different timeline/universe where they were taken by the entity)

so,the infected being zombies (or walkers) mean that the bill from the cutscene is from another timeline, universe? (DBD Bill).
the devs changed legion's lore and nurse with their tome so,this wouldn't be out of the question.
i don't care if it's canon or not,i just wanted to know why the infected people were acting like zombies or undead in that cutscene.

i would like to believe that the infected people were walking because that was the first week of infection, and then they started to mutate or viceversa, but that doesn't really explain them looking like rotting corpses while they look like normal humans in L4D.

I think you're looking too much into it, probably was just a mistake.

That's not a theory, it's just how it is.
Both Valve and BHVR confirmed Bill being in DbD is not canon when he was introduced into the game 4 years ago.

maybe, but in that case,it was a big mistake cause, you can clearly see in L4D that they are "Infected" who run and not actual "green rotting zombies who slowly walk"

I just realized that your username is very similar to clementine from TWDG...are you a fan of the game?

um yeah why? are you a fan too?

Yes
I made 3 teachable perks for her too if she came into the game

Ok, this is the correct thread,it is not like Valve themselves have also portrayed their “infected” as zombie-like, with wounds that should have quickly killed them, much worse than that image:
I have not seen the video, but from the image nothing there seems too “undead” and you could explain it with the virus giving the infected greater endurance to wounds and bleeding. They are still living, they just can survive stuff that would kill people for longer periods.

hey, you got it right this time!
lol

thank you for the explanation, and the pictures... but, how would you explain the fact that they don't run in DBD video? why are they walking if they re infected? specially after "seeing the survivors". IIRC the only times infected are seeing walking is when no survivor is on sight

I haven’t seen the video, but yeah, that is probably a mistake in the devs part, the zombies always run, no matter their state.

I'm totally fine with their appearance but making L4D infected slow is absolutely heretical! L4D infected have always been fast it was never a mutation and pretty much all of the special infected are fast and have great mobility (excluding the Boomer)
I have a feeling they nerfed the infected and the Tank in the memories to fit in with DBD so as to now overshadow DBD's actual killers

Depends. Do they die from getting injured anywhere, or just the head?
If its just the head, they're zombies. If anywhere, they're infected

yeah agreed, they turned the infected into slow zombies which doesn't fit tbh,i can totally see them walking when there's no survivors on sight and it's okay but, after seeing the 4 survivors, they were still walking like mummies

Zombie and Infected are two diffrent things AFAIK,infected people have like rabbies and run almost all the time (L4D case),and zombies are like undead people (sometimes with green skin like the pictures i posted above?) who walk and move slowly

Oh yeah I mean in the L4D menu and whenever there's ambient infected around they mostly just walk about, they only start running when they notice a survivor or something attracts them. A common infected otherwise is never ever slow even when they are weighed down by Body-Armor, Hazmat Suits, or been near shot to pieces
Its one of the key things about L4D2 none of the infected or slow except for the Smoker, Bloater, or Spitter to a degree

It's probably an oversite, whoever animates the tomes was likely just told to draw zombies and most zombies in media are the undead, not living infected people.
