How to be a great "Camper" - not for sensitive people!
So this thread is all about how to be as efficient as possible at camping, perhaps talking about what killers is best for this defensive playstyle and how to use them, if people want to share their knowledge. The other team won't like it but they don't have to like it right. If you want to complain about camping start another thread. A few things I'm thinking of if you want to become an elite camper:
1: First of all you should reach Rank 1 playing "normal" so that your overall game is good. To be a good camper you must be able to end chases fast, the standing around/patrol part anyone can do even new players. Many survivors thinks a camping killer is bad at the game and then makes mistakes because they underestimate the killer.
2: Playing "dirty" like keep hitting a hooked survivor or showing them that you won't ever leave them alone can make the survivor DC or hook suicide, that is more or less you winning the game only using psychology to get them of balance. But you do this only to win, not to be toxic of course.
Killer: While everyone will say Bubba is the best camping killer I got a better result using Doctor when I tried camping for a few days. Why? Because with Bubba they respected the killer and did gens. With Doctor they tried to unhook instead and I almost got 4k in all games. Doctor can also shock survivors trying to unhook so the hooked survivor reach struggle state. And if survivors were still around in the end game NOED kicked in and Doctor is very good at finding survivors. What killers do you use for camping and how do you use them for this playstyle?
Perks: NOED is always good because if the team just do gens you still have a good chance getting kills in the end since they never focus on totems while you camp, it's either gens or the unhook survivors focus on.
Agitation is always good also for fast hooks and/or basement. Perhaps Starstruck can be good when survivors try to protect the unhooked survivor, and No Way Out could be good with NOED for the end game if survivors live that long? I have yet to try them since I almost only play survivor these days.

I love face camping people who decide to do anything they can to agitate me. Usually ends up in everyone dying. Also the hitting on hook usually makes them opt out of the game. It's good psychological mind games.

Yes well that is camping because you are mad at someone, a spur of the moment thing that many do also of course. But it's even harder to face if the killer build around the camping playstyle before the game. Psychological mind games is underrated from the killer side since one survivor giving up early has such a strong effect.
It's sad though that more or less everyone thinks the killer do things like that because they are toxic. I mean it's a horror game why would the killer not use psychological warfare?

So, be the biggest bully you can be and call anyone who points out that you're just being spiteful "sensitive"?
If anyone's here to look for justified camping, I.E when and when not to camp to be an efficient player, you're in the wrong thread. This is for people that want a 2-hook 2k because they've given up on winning.
Generally speaking, you should patrol areas that force survivors to come to you. That means areas with hooks, gens, or a mix of the two. Basement is a great example of how to quickly snowball map pressure by faking leaving it only to come back - at worst, you'll get a trade and an injured survivor. At best, 2 hooks and no reason to leave. Another example is hooking someone next to a gen with a lot of progress, because if you leave such a situation that's a free unhook and a free gen. It's not always best to camp there, but you'll get a feel for it. And by "camp", I don't mean facecamping the hook. You patrol the area, opening up the opportunity for survivors to come in for the unhook. Why? Because otherwise they might not and you'll just lose other gens. There's so the asisc 3-gen situation, however you do actually have to commit to chases whether you like it or not. Otherwise you won't win and you'll simply drag out your loss for 40 minutes. It's always worth it to give up patrolling the 3-gen in order to secure a down, and drag that person back to the 3-gen just in time (especially if you have Pop). Another classic example is having an active and dangerous totem, usually Devour Hope but sometimes Ruin. It depends on the behaviour of the survivors.
Hardcore camping is the easiest way to admit you've given up. It's extremely punishable and gives you no reward. It's entering a match looking for the cheapest draw possible. Pressuring key areas is one of the most effective ways of winning. It forces or tricks survivors to come and interact with you, potentially beginning a snowball that survivors cannot recover from.

Hoo boy, OP. This one is gonna make some people mad. You should know they aren't ready to hear that skillful and intelligent camping actually works extremely well.

@DBD78 Nice! I like this sort of tactical thinking.
I was trying some new things with a basement Oni camping build, no one expects an Insidious Oni, if you play around Kindred well enough.

Trickster can camp half decetly if you use like shatter and piercing knives.

I'm a red rank killer and so proud I'm actually skilled enough to get 4ks most games without being trash.

I've had great results as doctor with starstruck and distressing and have been accused of camping so I guess that also works.

I will just say, most do not like when a killer face camps, so if you wanna do it, feel free, but dont come here complaining afterwards that its hard to find a lobby or game is dying when people get fed up and stop playing.
2 sides to every story.
