Survive with friends

From what I did read here on the forums and on steam, survive with friends seem the be a main issue with balancing.

So why not just limit it to a max. of 2 players? If more friends want to play together, they can still create a kill your friends room.

Let me tell you a story, about DbD before SWF.

People queued up at the same time, to try to trick the game into putting them in the same lobby. When that didn't work, they left the lobby (or DC'd mid-game because other players wouldn't leave the lobby). They did this so often and regularly, that many lobbies broke outright.

History would repeat itself if limits were added, because you can't stop people from wanting (and trying) to play with their friends.

Or, they could stop pretending this is a survival horror game as add in-game callouts, then balance around no longer having survivors not being able to do anything without tripping over a teammate.
