Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Nintendo Switch Frame Rate Optimization

Please Note that Everything stated in here IS NOT an insult or an attack meant to Behaviour, The Dev team, Nintendo, or anyone stated in this thread. This thread is simply to give feedback and the suggestion for an higher frame rate on the Nintendo Switch system. I have bought My Nintendo Switch Device in 2017 and Dead by Daylight last December and ever since that day i started completely putting time into the game. I gained lots of perks, bloodpoints, characters, cosmetics (Including items from the last rift) and much more. I usually played as an survivor and in the end sometimes more as an killer, but i played enough on both sides to gain as much as the on the other. However, then, update after update, the Frame Rates got worse. At the start, it wasnt completely smooth with the Frame rate, but it was quite playable. But now, it got so unplayable that the game on the Nintendo Switch Systen isnt even fun to play anymore. I will list down below the issues i have encountered and which ruin the game experience for me:

-Frame Rate and Fps: While being in the lobby of the game, everything is completely smooth, there are not much bugs and everything is working as it was supposed to. However, when being in a game with each Survivors and Killers. The Frame rate is getting very unstable. When chasing a survivor or getting chased by the killer, most of the times, the frame rate goes completely down which is obviously absouloutely horrible since the game is playing online and even one simple mistake can give the killer enough of an oppurtunity to easily down the survivor or for the killers, loose the chase with an survivor. At first i made the conclusion that my system was older and therefore the game maybe runs this poorly because of my device's age, but while i was watching some diffrent youtube videos with other players playing on the system, i shortly noticed that i wasnt the only one with frame rate problems on my Nintendo switch device and that almost anyone who owns an switch and plays Dead by Daylight has these frame rate problems. During the last update it got an tiny bit better, howver, its still not stable enough to get out of the killers chases or get survivors in my opinion.

-Costumes and charms: When wearing any costumes, for example: Feng mins "Lady Defiant" costume, (Which i own) or for example: The spirits "Top Student" costume (Which i, also own) the Frame rate gets an step more unstabler than before and its getting more hard to play the game. The only things i can let my survivors or killers wear a the moment are either the prestiged clothes (Presitged bloody Torso's especially) with only an diffrent head from another costume and diffrent downer parts or the default characters clothes so the frame rate stays a bit more stable. I cannot usually wear any of my normal outfits or charms because if i do the frame rate will be painfully lowered and therefore the game gets more unplayble than before.

-Looking into diffrent Directions: Sometimes, when the frame rate is already at an low point, objects can dissapear when looking into another direction and for 1-3 seconds and completely white image in that direction is shown until it then dissapears again. For Killers, this happens more especially and this also was one issue i have stated in the "Bug Report" section but which never had to got any attention. The issue is that (This happened most of the times in the "Hawkins labaratory map") The Killer looks into another direction, the objects in this direction dissapear (like with the Survivors) but the character models of the survivors are still there. For example: An survivor was hiding inside an locker and due to the objects dissapearing, i knew the exact location of that survivor in the locker and could use that bug as my advantage. Which i didnt and ignored but which still occured.

I Beg you to please fix this and make the game playable on the Nintendo Switch System again, even if the graphic settings have to be lowerd to another point. Im not really familiar with coding or developing a game but i saw this at another game on my system (If not used already.) where when entering a new area, everything in an limited area was rendering the textures of the objects etc. but when leaving that area and entering a new one, everything in the new are was rendered meanwhile the old are was dissrendered to spare the performance and to get an smoother frame rate. However, i do not know the complexety of Dead by Daylight, neither do i know whats possible and what is not, therefore, i will not spread false and useless info on this thread.

Hello Switch cousin! I had assumed y'all probably have the toughest experience with DBD performance-wise, but wow just wow.

My Xbox1 has always had issues running this game well, particularly after many matches in a row, but never have I seen a surv hiding in a locker and the locker visual itself removed. Absolutely insane!

We all would benefit so much from a good thorough optimization, across all platforms.

Gosh, really? I tought only on the Switch device's the performance would be this horrible, since i have seen some other games which had some similiar issue like Dead by daylight but which were completely fixed. But i never expected it to run so bad on all platforms and especially on the Xbox one, an high quality console which can run any game at high graphics. Hopefully since they have already said that they will listen to their playerbase now, they will find an way to fix these issues and bring back the good performance, to the platforms. Meanwhile, i probalbly can only continue the game on my PC. Sad.
